I was sitting in a private arena yammering endlessly with castromarx one day about basing, and along came a great idea. (I think it's pretty damn neat anyway.) We both agree that the best part of basing is an intense flag room battle. Fuck the cram. Fuck lining. Fuck rocketing javs. Fuck it all. Nothing tops a flag room full of ship crunching carnage. So then, why not have a basing event in which both teams start out with an ear warp, and then never leave flag room again? I'm not quite sure of the exact logistics of it, but here are some of my ideas on how to make it work.
I shouldn't have to say this, but I want serious conjectures only. Don't come in here and simply say it's a stupid idea. If you think it's stupid, give me reasons as to why you feel that way. If you think it's pretty fucking cool (which I do), let me know how it could be improved upon.
I hope to hear some comments soon. Have at it folks!
- Make terriers more tank-like. That is, allow them to take much more damage before dying. This would serve to prolong the intensity of the flag room battles.
- Have a bot set up to warp a terrier that tries to touch flag back into the ear. This would prevent either team from simply camping on the flag all game long.
- When one of the terriers finally does die, again have a bot that can warp. The warp would be the dead terr to an ear with the ENTIRE remaining team to an ear, and it would occur as soon the dead terrier respawned. You would need to warp the ENTIRE leftover team, otherwise they could just camp the ear where the dead terr was to appear.
