The files of SSDownloads.com are back!

As many of you know, SSDLs once hosted nearly all the files of the SS community, until it went down several years ago. This left us with a huge gaping hole in support for the game, and people scrambling for the remaining files that have been spread in other places.

Thanks to PoLiX for uploading this backup.

How you can help

PoLiX wasn't able to recover the website itself or its database. This means there are two things lacking in the backup: there's no description info, and the files are only partially sorted.

Want to help return it to its former glory? After you download a file, post in this thread with sorting and description info.

Sorting: Post the filename(s) and the location the file(s) should be placed. If you think a new folder is needed, post this, too.

Description: Post the filename(s) and a short description (1 short sentence). If you want to make it as easy as possible on a guy who already spends way too much time doing Mechanical Turk busywork for the zone, put it in this format:

AddDescription "[<span class='description'>File description</span>]" filename.zip

This way I can copy-paste it right into the description file. Why not download a couple files, check them out and write a few words of description? It'll relieve your boredom for 30 minutes and you'll have done something meaningful for the SS community. Give you that warm fuzzy feeling in your spaceship region.
