How do Newbies find out about Trenchwars?

My bro worked as a game beta tester and on some site about upcoming games there was a open beta section which we used to check out every now and then.
Actually in the first month or so I only used to watch my brother play until I played it a couple of times. But playing wasnt half as fun as watching.

i was working at a call centre in st catherines ontario.. smoking joints every break with a chinese guy named wei, we called him master wei fu... so we're standing around in a circle as most groups do $$ passing along our most treasured peace pipe talking about computer games and he started talking about this game called subspace. next break we talked some more about it while passing that good ol peace pipe around again. So I checked it out, started to play dueling arizona with him , his nick was Clocker, kicked my ass all the time and I didnt like DZ too much, a friend of mine told me about Trench 1 shot death zone and that next day after work I checked it out. Fell in love with this crappy 2d game and have wasted a couple years playing it so far. But Ive met alot of killer people on the way.

My friend picked up a bunch of boxes of old, "shitty" PC games still in their boxes when a local store went OFB. I was looking at them and saw SS, it looked kind of cool so I stole it. It lived in my desk for a few months before I got bored, opened it up, and saw the guide by JeffP. I read it, didnt know what happened to the VIE server so I just checked on Yahoo. I came to TW because it was the biggest. End of story, as well as my life.
