are proball, powerball, and speedball all the same thing?

No.

Powerball is 8 v 8, and relies a lot of killing , flying, and directing as a team. The map is huge, and open for the most part, leading to a much slower paced match.

Speedball is 5 v 5, on a small map, with intense action, and a speed penalty while holding the ball that makes passing extremely critical. High scoring, lots of killing.

Proball is SVS like Powerball, but matches are 4v4 in a very cramped map that puts a lot of focus on ship control.

Small Pb is 2 v 2, and plays a lot l

all are fun, and different. Speedball's still tops on my list though, and hockey doesn't even make the cut.

All of the ball games are fun including HZ. Going into PB pub will allow you to get adjusted to the ship (only 1 type of ship as in same settings for wb and jav). Proball has a bot there so just enter the game when there are ppl around. Also, no one-shot-kills in pb or proball, but specials are used.
