Hey everyone, it may sound useless but I had the idea to make a kind of tutorial for the ship i use the most, jav and shark, if someone would like to make threads for the warbird, spider, and terrier, it would be cool. I'm making this for people that would like to improve their ship skills and also for fun
First you have to understand that I am NOT the best dueling javelin but I have some experience in it, I will only post my tactics and the way I play to mostly 'try' to win
The javelin is a ship you must play patiently, the ultimate goal is to not make any errors while playing, since you're opponents will kill you when you make these errors (to my opinion). I repeat, be PATIENT. I use bullets, but not too much or else people will simply shoot a bomb in your ass and dodge your bullets. You must watch your energy, if you're low on energy, try to avoid getting in a fight with someone else, just fly around recharging your energy. If you get into a fight while you're low on energy, you have to choices, if your opponent is facing you with his nose (where the bombs are shot) try shooting some bullets and keep dodging, or else if he's shooting bullets at you, simply dodge, the best is to pass between 2 bullets. I've played this game for a bit less than three years now and the thing I noticed is that people that are good are feared, it may sound normal but try thinking: what if my opponent fears me? He will naturally be more hesitant to shoot at you and be more nervous while playing, which is bad. Like i said, when you're hunted by someone and you're 'dodging forward and backward randomly' like i said, he doesn't know where to shoot and shoots in the direction where you're trying make him believe you're going. Now, what if someone dodge like this while you're hunting him? Shoot right through him, don't shoot on sides where he's trying to make you believe he's going. The javelin is a ship where you have be brighter than you're opponent, predict what he will do and trap him in his own errors, even if you lost hope, never give-up, there is always a chance to win.
For you people that don't want to read this entirely: Try dodging the best as you can, find new ways to dodge, that's the best, you're own dodging style is THE best style. Be patient while playing, it may be long to kill you're opponent but you have less chances to die. Be feared by your opponent, predict what he will do and trap him in his own errors, oh, and try avoiding direct shot if you're new to this ship, try making the bomb bounce into a wall near you're opponent, you have less chances to receive a bullet in the face, and he will lose at least some energy if he doesn't die so he won't shoot back.
I'm only thinking of this for the moment, you can add stuff, comments, if you'd like, hope this is useful.
Last minute thoughts:
-to be good in jav, play a lot of it, either in ?go javs or ?go baseelim, javs is good for twjd practice and baseelim is mostly for dodging and to reduce nervosity while playing.
-notice where your opponent is going and control your ship, do not let it fly around.
-when you shoot a bomb, don't watch it go and you'll GO BOOM!
P.S.: sorry about the english typing.
