My team won a ?go base game today with only using 1 shark and we only used the shark for 3 minutes to clear a really mined up cram once. The only TWO TIME TWLJ All-Star and TWLB All-Star who never played a game.

Mine on attack/defend: agree with windreaper
FR battle: agree with RR

sometimes, the best way to break cram is to lay a mine right at the good place in the top of entrance so that an ennemy shark simply ram it because he will never have thought about you doing this.
But I found a way to mine properly; simply mine right under a wall so that if they're repped, they explode right away and kill the ennemy team instead of your own team, and if you're lucky, your mines may produce a shrap fest.
Mine to crack cram works only if your opposition has some inexperienced players. The better the other team is, the less likely a spider/shark would walk into your mine. And if they don't, it's going to be really dangerous for your team.
Mine under the walls won't work with well co-op terr and sharks, they will bypass the mines without repping them, and by helping you waste those mines, they effectively reduced your sharks potence in FR battle

As a terrier, i find usefull for a shark to mine wisely while attacking as long they dont do something like a mass tking strike. Although i don't like mining in the base, it become usefull when the other team rush at you and you step off the mine. Dangerous but usefull if handled right.

zXer, I read your post, but didnt read the rest so excuse me if i missed something.
I agree ALMOST entirely with this post, except for mining while attacking. Even if you are carefull with mining, thre is always that chance it will be repped and your terr killed.
sry this is quick but im at the school"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that the good do nothing."

Yeah well I'm just going to say that mining on attack is almost always a bad idea if the other team has non-newb sharks... pretty much any enemy mine that is near the main tube leading to the FR can be used as a devistating weapon
You might get lucky mining real high (on attack) to fuck up the cram, but if the enemy sharks (defenders) don't accidently rep it, you're screwed.sdg

Mines are used to primarily stop ships from moving through an area of space. While mining on attack can work at times, the fundamental truth is that when you are attacking the flag, your team is the one trying to get through that area of space, not the defending team. In such a situation, it doesn't matter whose mine it belongs to, if one team is trying to get past it, they are at a disadvantage.
The optimal conditions that it will work is if there is a logjam of ships in close proximity and proper timing of opposing sharks' respawn timers.
