Should you even be surprised that some people on staff are incompetent/ assholes? Look at the main population of TW. It's fully of angsty kids that like to take their frustrations in life on some unspecting internet stranger. Of course a few are going to slip through the cracks and join staff. You can't get them all out, just appreciate the good ones we have in TW.

I say we combine this with the "staff does a good job" thread just to confuse the shit out of the newbies who come to the forums.

And staff get's the job done, granted some people I like on staff over others, but they all have their place. Everyone on staff is there for a reason, they got there some how and they belong there, no one can take that away from them besides Weaver and YoMama!!!

19 of the events mentioned are hosted by bots or ZHs. And starting a bot isn't work, if that's your argument. Nad i'm pretty sure a lot of the other events like cloaks all the hosts have to do is prize etc. Basing/Ghoulgames/Rabbit and other related events are a lot harder than typing /deaths 10 or whatever And /!lagout 0 0 0. I don't remember commands exactly.

He wasn't staff at that point, see the thread, he had stolen nimostatus's name or so priitk thought, so he netbanned him for 30 days, he wasn't staff at that point though.

I can only speak from experience, my last stint on staff, was just about as the bots were becoming more powerful and smarter. I didn't mind them really, but i knew it would take away from the quality/personal touches of hosted events. And the new staff never had to learn to manually host things or put up with the spam of !lagouts etc that the older staffer had. It's evolution, people are getting lazier so they get bots and program to do the thinking and work for them! There are good things from the bots and there are bad things too.

The thing that the bots adds is fairness. It cannot go out of the bounds and codes it has. No Bias. the bot has no brain, no pity no nothing. It does what it does and that's what it's for.

As for human hosting, there is a personal touch (some people might call it gay) but it really does make events more exciting and interesting.

Yes, I've noticed a dramatic decrease in the "personal touches"

I used to play hosted games alot because of the quality of the chats -- Melo <ER> was fun, and Mr. 420. Nut now, its like the staff just !start and then go afk.

I'd say a couple years ago I used to try and go to every event hosted. WW3 was pretty rare and was just starting to come about so it was only hosted like once every few weeks and there had to be like 5 people to host it all. Somehow it just made you feel like you were apart of something special, something that wouldn't be forgotten (plus the summary on the website was always fun to read).

Now with WW5 or 6 or whatever hosted every weekend, the event has lost it's appeal. I think the same could be said for a lot of events.

This isn't the staffs fault, they were filling a void the population had; I remember everyone always bugged <ER>s to host various things.

I don't know if you feel the same way, but that is just my thoughts. I personally think staff is doing a fine job (besides the abusive Smod Strike), especially for TWL not going on.

yeah, they need to go back to hsoting things rarely-ish so they gain more appeal. i remember when turretwatz and starcon wer ethe rage until it was overplayed.
