I'd definately be willing to give it a shot. Team 5v5 spiders, could be great fun. But what kind of arena would it be? The huge style TWLD type arena? Or a more compact one?

I think for a spider twl, you should design a base like arena. not really like a base, and not flag and stuff. but not A big space with rocks. but some "buildings" in it.

Edit: Like a huge lower base.

If you read one of my posts back afew months... in the TWD message forum. I posted a message in concern with this current thread.

I suggested a TWFD league...(FIGHTER DUEL)

Fighter ships = spider, lancaster, and warbird.

So in your lineup, you can only chose 2 of the same type of ships, just to mix it up... no 4 warbirds, only 2 max... the rest must be either lancaster/spider.

The problem with a spider only duel, is it could takes hours for a match to end.... because of the level 1 bullets the spider spits out.
However, I have watched some SPider ELIMs and they don't take hours..hmmm... the only way to figure this out, is to actually test it.

I chatted with Mythradir(TWD Bot Developer) 2 days ago privately, and he told me he might consider testing this out...see how it goes. Whether this occurs or not, all is upto TWD staff... I only thought up this idea and wonder why it didn't exist before....maybe they tried it a few years ago and it had flaws/problems...no idea.... just thought it would be lots of fun. Cause I don't mind playing lancaster too.... and some of us love flying the spider ship.

As I said in the old post, reiterated, that to have combinational fighter dueling would create many opportunities in the way of tactics/strategy.

Straight warbird twdd dueling is still very fun, but there is only so many strategies/tactics in that situation.

I hope this Fighter dueling idea becomes a reality..... I guess an arena for it would have to be made and a custom bot.... like cross between elim/twdd bots... use #s to select ship.

heh... another idea just crossed my mind... How about capital ship escort dueling?

A leviathan is the capital ship...very slow...obviously....

afew ships protect the levy trying to get it to point A to point B.... while afew other ships attack the enemies capital ship.

Each time the capital ship gets to point B, you get points..etc..

Might be a silly idea, but it just crossed my mind...... whenever I think of warbirds, I think of Starbuck and Apollo (BattleStar Galactica) escort some freight ships..heh... ohno now that tune is in my head...ugh

I think a Spider league would be good, if the right map was made.

A lance league would be stupid becuase lancs are nu, a levi league would just be frustrating and restarded...

i asked staff for a spider league during last twl, no-one seemed to be to interested in doing it tho, so i just left it at that.
