Automatic ?go javs scorereset

I think the scores aren't saved to save storage space. Its also just an event not like ?go elim or baseelim, theres no need for it.

that would be cool if javs was its own elim (so you wouldnt have to skip some belim's -- plus you could have the ?go javs base)

but then again it would sorta kill the laid back atmosphere that javs has, i like going in there and talking about strategies and stuff

The only possible thing they should do to change the settings in ?go javs is take out shrap. I like that they did it in B-elim. Why oh why have shrap, those little buggers kill me, I dont like to die

It was a good idea to take it out of b-elim I agree, but there is normally a lower amoutn of players in ?go javs so the shrap is fun.
Also I am getting good at shrap shots

I wish the staff would stop putting the anti-shrap bots in there, it's annoying (for me and I am sure the staff) having to ?help to ask someone to get rid of it.

Yeah I use to play in ?go javs all the time. I use to get called newb all the time for be strictly non b-elim.

Dude, you have no idea... Lou and I were both over 2500 kills when they up and decided to whipe out all the scores. RAWR!

Hmm.. I had a reply typed up for this one ages ago but didn't post it.

I don't think the main reason was to save bandwith since scores most likely would be stored on hds. Ie space is the issue not really bandwidth. So, if ss run on like a gig space or whatever it is. I don't think the scores would've have taken that much space to be of a huge concern. But I could be wrong.

The main most likely reason (specalative) is probably because staff decided it would be a good idea to reset every so often since a lot of calls are for scoreresets. Since TW doesnt want to implement the ?scorereset command this was a viable alternative to reduce the burden on staff.

Its disadvantage is that now its not possible to go for huge records for the hell of it in javs. But however, it does come with its advantages.

When I was still playing one of the problems I faced was when I wanted to get random improptive duels ie (2v2 or 3v3 etc. Since javduels minimum was 4v4 and even for that you needed a staff (no matter how low the position is) to start the event. However, since scores are automatically being reset every so often, its advantages to be able to just walk into an arena such as ?go twlj etc and start playing. Me being a big fan of 2v2 found this very convinient since there was no other way to play a good jav game without a staff member reseting scores.

So, although I miss the benifits of keeping the scores I also like the benifits of resets all the time. Since resets have the added benifit of reducing staff burden I don't have anything against it.
