I think saving a boungh of ?go javs stats isnt going to fill the servers storagespace :/ anyway, now its not so cool as it once was.

Assuming that wins, losses, kill points, and flag points are stored as 16-bit signed integers (and I believe they are), that means each person's score takes up 8 bytes. And add onto that people's names/userids/etc. that get stored in .scr files. That's like 30 bytes, which is peanuts.

The notion that scores take up any significant amount of HD space is ridonkulous. As for bandwidth.. no, just no. Full scores are only sent when entering the arena (and only for everyone in the arena), and scores are updated as they change from there on. And ?go javs doesn't have 35 people in it 24/7. Its bandwidth usage is minimal.

          What gives?

If this amount of memory is so important, can we start deleting boring arenas that get overhyped for two weeks and then never played again?

I'll keep ?go Spa alive. Don't worry it won't turn into another one of those arenas shade

I know that it must have stunk to have your kills erased, but it's still not that important.

oh, almost forgot. you can't save jav scores unless you save all arena's scores. thank PriitK for that piece, kiddos

there IS a way to make pub's ignore ?scorereset. In the server.ini, theres an option to ignore certain commands (? and *). Simply add ?scorereset.

I'm not sure how the bots work, but if someone ?scoreresetted in elim, im sure they can re-write bots to count the kill messages, not the record (assuming the bot looks at the record)

or even better, arena's can be set to have a spec-at-certain-death function (i THINK). for each game bot can esc-c, re-write spec-deaths to X.
