New League!!

I'm sick of the underutilization of the Lanc and the Spider. I have an idea for a new 5-ship league (tentatively named TWL-M) where 1 lanc, 1 spider, 1 warbird would be mandatory but you could have any setup you want after that. So you could have 2 spiders, 1 lanc, 2 warbirds... or 3 warbirds, 1 lanc, 1 spider etc.

I doubt this will actually get adopted but it would be neat-o.

I think it would be cool, like a strategy game, where you can change ships during game, like if team X has 2 wb's, then you can morph your 2 lancs into spiders have have 3 spiders to flank the WB.

A captain would watch over the battle, giving orders and such.

It would sort of be like Ender's Game, the battle 'sims', where the commander strategized aqnd directed.

It could also be done in 'rounds' like so:

Randomly chosen captain gets to setup first

Capt 1 chooses

Bot PM's Capt 2 with capt 1 lineup

Capt. 2 makes his lineup

Bot tells Capt 1

Capt 1 gets the last chance to make lineup

Capt 2 gets the chance to change one ship, and one ship only

Round 1.

Winner gets to Go First in picking.

repeat X amount of times (perhaps specified by a captain agreement in the beginiing?

This is an old idea.
Nothing new, but when it was brought up (one of the many
occasions) the time just wasn't right, TWL etc major leagues
were just starting.

Another problem associated with "New League Ideas" is that there's often a lack of support from the community, and a lack of volunteers to head up the proper management and setting up of the league.

There's a lot more work put into a league than most people give credit.

If you goto TWD forum, I posted something like this on July 31, 2003. And that was like 6 months ago... I posted many detailed info on it, sort of funny looking back on it.

So yeah Mattey, a neat-o idea that never will get adopted. Who knows it may be considered after they deal with the priorities -- reseting twd, bot improvements, and making twd more stable.

Back a few months ago I talked to Mythrandir online, but he seemed a bit preoccupied with other things or priorities.
