Cornered tiles are stupid, tiles are full squares so they should be filled with anything but black.
If the new basingmap is something else than the old basingmap it sucks.
Let's first play a TWD or a TWL with the new 4-spider rule before doing anything drastic like changing the map.
I think that rule will solve what people been crying about the last season.
If you want to change the map because people find it boring (either shoot those people or) make a new map that is totally new and exciting. Don't make some stupid adjustments that are ment to remove a tactic out of the game. (Because the 4-spider max rule has to be tested first)You ate some priest porridge

The two indentations on either side of the flagroom tube really give a jav a nice place to shoot that is hard to repel. Probably not a good thing.
I guess it was pretty cool seeing people trying to come up with new techniques so quickly with the new map, like camping in the two "outer" niches of the flagroom entrance and trying to find new mining spots.
The thing with widening the entrence though is that you basically have to cram to defend it (as opposed to lining, etc). Taking into account lag, the extended width of the entrence, etc, lining just doesn't work. I'm sure after a while, experienced basers would be able to cram this map almost as well as they can on the original map. You can even fire down from bigger angles when you are up there.
Also agreed that the 2 1-tile blocks in the middle of nowhere are just stupid, although they do give the defending terr somewhere to launch off of when cramming.
If any change would be made to the base, I think a simple change like #basefr10 would be the best. Very little change (only 2 blocks removed) but would keep the terr from going unconscious on the block while the rest of their team crams.sdg

I think the new map owns, it gives you a little bit more freedom as far as using less spids. Played the first game on it, with 3 spids a wb and jav. It's dope, and a lanc would probably be a great offensive ship. I'm thinking 2 spids, a wb, a jav and a lanc. It may not seem like it won't get in base, but it will drag the defense out a bit. Allowing the terrier to get in and move around. The FR fights in it are a lot of fun too, more than the original basing map.
EDIT: I don't know about anyone else, but I think in the meantime until TWD is reset, it should be used and the TWBD map. Without those 2 blocks the base is too open imo. You can use those blocks for almost everything.. spidering, javing. terring, sharking.. you can make a jav shot from lower that hits that and clears spiderline. Or put mines with shraps near it to kill enemies in fr (when mines get repped). Dont judge it too much before you have seen all of the nice things in it. I'm doing lot of research on my zone with these basemaps so ill post updates when i get better solutions.
Imo this entrance gives more power for attacking team. With old map it's just too skilless to cram because the entrance is too small. You still can cram, just need to have more skills.

I'd like to see the entrance shrink back to it's original size. Maybe I'm just a fan of watching someone pull the difficult one-bounce entrance, or the full 90 degree turn you need to make to enter in the current one. I think the mid blocks are interesting, I do not like the wall changes on your last map. You need to give terriers at least one lane to move through on the sides, and that makes it damn hard to hide if you need to recover from a brutal entrance.

I think that new base map is shit.
How about we make a base map without diagonal tiles... you know... the ones that went put together make a diagonal line, but we all know they are really just a bunch of squares with black areas on so you cant see them.... THAT IS GAY
