Shrap in javs

Shrap has been permenantly reduced in ?go javs. I find it annoying that TW have reduced the shrap without having had some sort of poll. TW say they try to do what's best for the players, but as far as I can see, the permanent no shrap is just so the staff don't have to bother getting a TWBot in there to get rid of it each time.

I play in ?go javs for most of my SS time and although I can see why some people find shrap annoying, I found it fun and I was getting good at it. I think a lot of the players who played there as often as me were also for shrap, it was the people who would come in for 20 mins or so every now and again who didn't like it; mainly because they didn't play in there long enough to learn how to use shrap (Not saying they are new, just that they spent their SS time elsewhere).

If there had been a poll and it was voted that shrap should have been removed, I wouldn't have been quite so annoyed because then at least TW would have consulted the players in their views.

If shrap is to stay off permanently, would it be possible for players to request a TWBot to prize shrap via help, just like people did previously for one to reduce shrap.

Hopefully someone will read this who can make a difference.

You realized that youve just explained to us all, that you, are in fact, good at using shrap, right?

Remember shrap is thrown in random directions. Just because u get a few lucky sharp-kills doesnt mean youre good at sharp.

I like the fact that it is gone. ?go javs is about fun along with practicing for leagues. To me the only thing shrap did was give random kills to people. Not nearly enough people actually know how to use them, and Im probably one of them. For every 1 person that can use shrap there are 50 that can't. Not to mention there is no shrap in leagues. I find that inconsistencies are annoying. If league doesnt have shrap why should the arena at which you are suppose to practice in have shrap. I also find this with ?go base. It has full energy greens, but league does not. These are just some ideas. I dont mind both arenas either way. I just like consistency.

Actually, before you even came to these forums Ewan, there was in fact a concensus about reducing the shrap. There has already been a discussion about this topic, and basically people wanted the shrap reduced, for the reasons Legionair gave.

Paul, thanks I didn't realise there was a vote on it (I wasn't sure if you meant there WAS a vote on it though), how come it took so long for it to come in to effect? :/

Wait, first you say they change settings too fast with out thinking and checking with players and now they take too long to make changes that the players want? On the same change?

Personally I would agree with Legionair that consistency is most important. Also, a bot that greens shrap will quickly bring players to the max shrap number (15 I think).

Of course you could go play in ?go shrap if you miss it that much.

Nono, you got me wrong, I may have worded it wrong, but I wasn't having a go for them taking so long, but Paul said it happened before I was on the forums, therefore meaning a year or so ago and I was just wondering why it took so long.

Also, prizing shrap would bring you to the max shrap number yes, but the max in ?go javs is three (Have you never noticed getting a "Shrap Increased" green in javs doesn't actually increase shrap).

Ok, maybe my views don't reflect a lot of other people's, I was just letting people know that it would be nice for there to be an option to have shrap in ?go javs because since it's not in baseelim anymore there is no where else (apart from a few hosted events) where I can play with it.

Whenever we have a few people in ?go javs, the 1st thing we hear is someone asking us to remove the shrap. So we did it for them w/o them having to ask every time.

it's good that the shrap is gone, it was just a pain in the ass having to dodge all that shrap.

you are not skilled if kill someone with shrap. It's just luck. Therefor shrap is removed.

I don't really care if the shrap is there or not, just had to say that an elim with 50 ppl and shrap = idiocy.

But aiming shraps at people was fun


PS. The shrap isn't randomed, you should KNOW where it goes. If they haven't changed it, that is.
