Just look at how they do it with other games. For instance CS uses steamids which come from cd keys. What can Subspace get from players in order to keep track of whos double squadding, or using another players name.

When players join TWL, they should be required to submit their machine id to the staff and everything should be placed in some sort of order, bots programmed to do /*info on each player playing whatever round, and if a name doesn't match up with a machine id, and they dont have enough to play, game gets forefeit'd.

If a new computer is purchased, just report your new machine id.

?userid wont work and some ip addresses change.

But is there a way to fake a machine id?

Speaking as someone who plays on several different machines on a consistent basis, this would be a pain in the ass.

Then you can report the macids of the comps you will use for league play, they can be registered under the same name

I'm just trying to figure ways around this, keep dropping ideas people

me and my bro bigyin both ave different computers but same connection plus other bro's friends use my computer to play ss too and no1 has ever sayed anything too me about doublesquading .me and bigyin are usually loged on at the same time so i think that proves we are not the same person. tho when gate crash tried to make a squad on bigyins computer it didnt let him because it sayed he was doubble squadding. so i guess it does check when you make a squad just not when u apply for one.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

As I've posted elsewhere on this forum your MAC address doesn't necessarily make it to the server. Some NICs and routers allow you to change the MAC address they use when connecting to the modem over ethernet (this was to fill a niche market where your broadband provider didn't want you to put a router on your connection). Some networks don't rely upon MAC addresses. Other identifiers can be used on those networks (for instance, most dial-up modems don't have MAC addresses). Special devices such as bridges and routers are involved in connecting these different types of networks. The local network-specific headers() are stripped from these local-network packets and the data is passed on. For more information, refer to the OSI model.
