The same thing happened to me, i made this kickass banner of an asteroid one day, and i lost it. I tried to copy it from a screenshot, but it didnt work. I opened it in photoshop or something and zoomed in on the banner. But the colours were wrong and it was it was placed on different pixels. I dont know why this happened, but i havent been able to get it back. Luckily i still have the asteroid banner on my favourite name, Asteroid

If the banner doesn't look right when you cut it out, you probably cut out some black pixels that are meant to be in the banner. If it's not exactly 12x8 and you try and use it in Continuum, it will look horrible.

Simple and easy way to duplicate any banner:

        1. Take a screenshot with the banner in it.

        2. Open MSPaint and open up the screenshot in the program.

        3. Cut out the banner, and paste it in a new MSPaint image. It is easiest to cut it out accurately by going to View--> Zoom --> Custom and then selecting 800% zoom.

        4. Make sure the banner is exactly 12x8, and save it as a new .bmp file in the banners folder.

This should work all the time, and since every version of Windows has the MSPaint (might be called "Paint" in 98 and lower) program, this is the easiest and most simple way. You will have an exact replica of the banner.
