shame that MAC isn't supported by all the games/etc.

they look awesome and they are real quick and have great desktops

See I don't own a mac but I know enough to know that if you do own a mac you own it for a reason and thats not to play games on.

First off the cost a ton of money, and then its hard to upgrade them and then although they are quite capable of running games the games aren't written in a language the works with mac......

That being said. Dell or IBM for a laptop? why or why not?

Mac is an OS... I dont know if partitioning your HDD to install a second OS would work with macs...

Yaeh macs are the best for professional sound editing, Amigas used to be the shizzle (I have one for that too) but Amiga made their sound-editing computers too expensive and macs took over for good I think.
