  • Continuum opens/closes ultra fast continuously??

Hi, Ive been playing continuum for a while, but now i have this problem..
OK.. so when i open continuum (.38 + .39pr1, ive tried both), nothing opens and my cursor always blinks from regular cursor to working in background cursor (with the arrow, and hourglass next to it) so when i open up task managaer via control alt delete, i click on the continuum.exe file to end its process, but after a short time, it will un-select!! this does not happen with the other files.. so im guessing it is opening and closing real fast! when i am fast enough to click the file and End Process, it asks me if i'm sure, so i click yes and it says:
    ---------------------------
    Unable to Terminate Process
    ---------------------------
The operation could not be completed.

The operation is not valid for this process.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------
Which im guessing is because that the file is opening and closing real fast...

I don't remember installing anything prior to this happening.. here are my comp specs:

Microsoft Windows XP Home, SP2 (Ive had SP2 for a while, it still worked after i got it, so SP2 couldnt be the problem)
    Intel Pentium 4 2Ghz
    512MB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 460, latest drivers

if you need more info please tell me!
I am in need of help because i cant play a game that i used to play so much!

    thanks in advance

(ps i searched the forums, to find nothing.. please excuse me if this is already posted!)

            hmmmm

So what has changed since before it started happening?

Surely it didn't just randomly start happening one day?

If it did then i suggest Virul scan / spyware / trojan etc... Scan disk might find any corrupt errors etc that could be causing it too..

I say virus check etc because my friend on Win ME (lol) had similar problem

That reminds me of a funny thing he said...

tried spyware checking virus etc? ... defrag uhm lol everything that Microsoft will tell you to do normally

Chances are that if it is your new things.. they may have left something behind that still causes the problem, computer's are fickle

If all else fails... copy all your important stuff (documents photos etc) to CD/zip and format it

make sure to try everything first though

It's all clean, you're very well protected. Won't be a virus or anything.

So I have no idea now
