Okay, long story short: I need to partition my hard drive. I want to keep my OS and programs on a "main" partition, and move all my data to a separate partition.
Unfortunately, when I attempt to partition the HD, the BIOS' built-in virus protection detects my actions as a "virus attempting to write to the boot sector" or something along those lines, and denies access. I've rummaged around in the BIOS, and there is no option to disable this nuisance.
Short of going in and replacing hardware and things of that nature, is there anything I can do to get around this nonsense?
