  • Firefox/mouse incompatible?

Okay, here is the situation. I use firefox for web browsing and my bluetooth mouse has a forward and a back button for page flipping. The buttons work while in internet explorer but those two buttons do not work in firefox. The scroll button works on for both browsers however. Anyone have a solution? Thanks

Does your mouse come with any software to customize use for specific programs?

hmm no my last mouse worked fine for back and forward

got a new mouse and it works too (says windows button 5 for back or something)
even allowed me to make a macro of ctrl+w so i can easily close tabs

it is a wired mouse - don't see what difference to firefox that would make?

I'm guessing there's a special "back" command that MS built into IE for whatever reason.

See if you can configure your buttons to be specifically ALT-left and ALT-right if that's not what they are already.
