Fatal Error

I get Fatal error 000000d4 when attempting to load up the continuum exe..

New computer, new download... the pre-release for 039 won't open either, Instead of opening it loads up to the processes in task manager and moves up and down the list randomly. O.o


A little help please anybody? ^_^

Ok... I've been through every thread I can find in tech support under "Fatal Error"

So far I've tried, re-downloading into different folder. And re-installing in a different folder, which worked for some others.

I've tried uninstalling and deleting everything the uninstall missed using regedit.

I've tried kicking it.... <_<

I can't install pr039 because it's doing the same thing and throwing up a fatal error...

It won't run in safe mode either.



Anybody got any ideas now I've defeated lazyitis?

While fiddling around, I got the very same error when I tried running the game in compatability mode for an older windows. Right click the continuum icon and click "properties" and click the compatibility tab. Uncheck "run the program in compatibility" if it is checked.

What Dack said. I had a similar problem on a different computer, except I had it run in compatibility mode for Win 95 when I had just gotten XP.

Tried that before coming here.. It wasn't originally set in a compatibility mode, when it didn't work I tried running it in all compatibility modes and with different settings..

Nothing running at all... =(

I've systematically shut everything else down...

There's not a single process running which isn't a system one..

Updates, windows firewall, all the Antivirus software all off. -__-

this is outta hand, it has to be something else besides ss. anything else not working right on your new comp? are you sure all drivers are working?

also what kind of system is it? what OS?

Win xp Media Center Edition, Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Pentium 4 2.8GHz 768RAM

Everything's been working fine...

The annoying thing is, I can get games like XCOM Apoc to work on here, which is apparently incredibly hard to get working on XP, yet Cont isn't for some reason..

Yes I've reset the settings I changed from when xcom was on here..

Everything works fine.. <_< No problems with it at all, had it for a few months now.

I've figured that it works if I right click and select "Run as.."

I'm not gonna be able to save any chats or macros for the next time I use it though..

Use the new version of Continuum, fixes the problem where it just sits in Task Manager (don't know about that Fatal Error):

Minor problem Ewan... The install for pr39 sits in task manager too, just like the cont exe file does... <_<
