No, that's not the pre-release version anymore. It's the public version of .39 and it should fix that error you're having.

        Ok..

        Now I'm using 39

        Fatal error 00000113

<_< Oh.. And I can't use "Run as.." to make it work either now..

EDIT: I just re installed 38, this now refuses to work using "Run as.." too..

@PH, when Priit wrote that, he had no clue what caused fatal error 000000d4. Now we all know it's caused in Windows XP and Vista, when run in compatibility mode.

Fatal error 00000113 is Continuum 0.39's (beta) way of saying it has 000000d4. Absolutely no difference between the two.

Solution: Right click on the Continuum icon, and select “Properties”. Switch over to to the “Compatibility” tab, and deselect/uncheck the box marked “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”. Press ok, and Continuum should work.

If this doesn't work, I suggest you uninstall continuum. Run a registry cleaner. Reboot. Install Continuum 0.39 beta (it fixes the taskbar problem) in C:\Program Files, and make sure it's not run under compatibility mode before playing it. You should have no need to use the "run as" option, just run it normally and make sure it's installed through an account that has administrator rights.

              No dice.

              That's exactly what I've done, some 10 to 15 times now. =/

              It's perplexing us.

I've been through all of my processes and nothing should be clashing.

It won't run in safe mode either.

Just forget about this. Give me a couple weeks and I'll figure it out. So long as the staff don't mind me using public release 39 for now. Which is the only one working using "run as.." now..

I'll figure out exactly what the problem is in the end, and I'll write it up here.

Thanks for everyone's help though. I'm pretty sure now that this is just some unique problem to my PC..

              Yay for being unique <_<

Because it throws up errors for them all the time. <_<

Been told off for it once so far, was told they'll discuss it though..

                      Thanks Rudy ^_^

To update.. It seems there's some hidden processes that XP Media Center edition uses..

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone using Media Center that's experienced problems with Cont.

                      Thanks

                          Rofl..

There's nothing wrong with Media Center aside from Continuum hating it for no reason
                          <_<

We've never had a problem with it, and it's virus free which is shocking considering the amount of porn the guys I live with look at on here

I used Windows XP Media Center, and never had a problem with Continuum. The only thing that did occur was the "task manager" problem, but as long as you don't run a virus scanner or a firewall before opening Continuum, it was fine. I never tested 0.39, but it includes that fix so it should work a-ok.

I think your problem is associated with a firewall, try disabling w/e you have (including XP's built-in firewall) and loading Continuum firswt, before anything else.

                              Been there, done that.

Been through the start up processes and run with basically only the essential processes running too.

I'm arguing with Microsoft at the moment, it seems there's some sort of spyware from their site that got installed with an update. They're denying all knowledge of it however.

                              I think that's what's causing the errors.

I doubt any Spyware installed from Microsoft's site.
