i stopped in for a quick round of base earlier and noticed that my cpu had shot up to 56 degrees by the end of the game. that's into the maximum temperature range for my processor. a client from 2001 should not be doing this to a dual-core chip from 2009 that has aged fairly well. hell, a game this old should barely produce any kind of load at all on a dual-core cpu, yet resource monitor confirms that continuum and one of the many svchosts were hogging the cpu badly.
is there some kind of setting somewhere that i should tweak or something? i don't remember this ever happening before. disabling firewall/antivirus did nothing. i'm on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and this never happened on xp, if that makes a difference.
pls help, even tf2 does not try to eat my cpu like this.
