I seem to remember it just being an accepted part of the game akin to in the NFL taking a knee to run the time out or in UFC taking a fight to the ground to avoid the chance of a fluke ko when you are ahead of the match or in hockey how you clear the puck back when time is running out and you have the lead. It is just common game play sense set in the match parameters. Sure, some select people complained when they lost but when they won were fine with it.

No it isn't it is about "Having the ability to refuse fighting and end the game on time or prolong it to an extra round should not be a viable strategy. Even if it occurs naturally, rounds should never end in a tie or by time."

The paradox for running the clock for a victory/draw is that everybody saw you were too scared to engage. The cost to your reputation, then, exceeds any benefit of winning the game. It's a Pyrrhic victory.

Spec chat agreed it was lame, but also agreed it was the smart thing to do, given the circumstances of the match and the rules allowing it.

Yup I would do it too. Run for time or tie depending on circumstances. The shootout mode makes things more interesting IMO. We do have the votes though for what it's worth.
