Yes it does, but usually people don't call formulas algorithms. In theory you can call x + 1 algorithm, but usually you don't. In the case of random damage, the formula is: squareroot(rand# * (max damage^2 + 1))

I think he has some valid points but also points that need to be cleared up.

Sure if u see a person spiking like hell chances are he is also seeing everyone spiking like he is, but that doesnt matter. If ur use to playing on a laggy connection with high ploss/ping where u do spike alot then it is used to ur advantage. U learn that u have to aim ahead of the players, that if u thrust its almost imposible for them to get u. But if ur not use to lag and u usuay play on cable or with low ping/ploss then u go and play on a laggy computer, or TW is laggin for u then its not ez and it doesnt help. It will probablyh hurt u bc u'll aim and hit ppl and htey wont die.

SO in conclusion lag is good if ur use to it, lag is bad if ur not.

Basing is a whole diff thing, like kuuk said a laggy shark (even if under limits) can ruine a whole game. Not only can he thrust up and mine in the cram, he can also thrust across FR while being shot and mine on ppl. Or eat multiple shots (aka having more then 3 repel pretty much). My own opionion is laggy terrs arent helpful. Bc if ur that laggy ur whole screen spikes and its very very hard to keep ur eyes on other ppl's bursts, its also hard to play vs a wb and a rocketing jav. Jav in base if laggy is also very affective. But then again it also helps if ur use to the lag. Each ship has its benifits and its downfalls to lagging/not lagging just sometimes the benifits outweigh the downfalls (like shark)

high ploss is alot more useful the high latency....if someone has u can aim ahead of them and kill them if they have high ploss they eat the shot....

But if they have high ploss C2S, others will eat their shots. :/
