being that I am the #1 spider in TW, for abouttttttttt 3 years straight now, I can say i'm 50/50 with this map. It seems a lil to cramped for a 5v5 imo. No room to really run at all, theres a bunch of walls everywhere and the corners? who the fuk is going to fly into that death trap.
you can pretty much thrust across 1 side to the other with no recharge needed!

As of right now, the things we're hoping to have implemented in the final version are this:
1 non-stationary (moves with whomever picked it up first) flag
transferable flag upon-death
points awarded for the team holding the flag (very small amount of points)
more than normal amount of points awarded per kill by the flag carrier
normal points awarded per kill by non-flag carrier
non-random damage
Implementation of Brick's into the game play allowing for temporary fortified movable bases
Attach to other spiders
Ideally it should combine an aspect of basing and an aspect of dueling. Allowing players to be creative to an extent and set up bases in many different area's and shapes to better defend against the enemy is something I've wanted to incorporate for awhile. The flag will award points over time, but a very small amount so that it balances; killing the other team many times can be more effective than the team that's running and hiding without killing while holding the flag.
As always, if you have comments feel free to let us know, though we are planning to at least give the above mentioned settings a try.

this always means you have to allow for warpage or something... case you plop a brick down on someones face
I always thought spiders would only be a good league if you made them one shot kills, made them faster, painted them gray, and then changed the arena to a rectangular style arena with asteroids in it.
It's hard to fit another league into TW's already bloated system, basically basing squads will be better at this league than anyone else, but Basing is already TW's least populated league so it just cuts basings playerbase down a tad to any of them who find spiders more entertaining. It is already hard enough if you run a three league squad to keep the peace between the warbirds who want to dd, the javs who want to jd, and the basers who want to bd, adding a group of spiders to this who whine about wanting twsd won't help matters, especially when a squads spiders would rather TWSD than base, and the other 4-5 basers (Sharks, terrs etc) want to base. I basically just see this league not doing to well for those reasons mainly. Also Spiders aren't considered an "elite" ship like birds or javs so I doubt you will get alot of support or demand from many of the older players. I know when you first start this up you are going to want to shove it in my face about how well its doing, but give it a few months before you say anything.. I predict this to become the TWIL leagues championship, 10-14 newbie squads who will try really hard, and then a squad like -Final- or Syndicate just raping them so they can brag about getting a quadruple crown or something.. Which will just kill the league even more.
I can't predict whether it will be a great success or not. I'm simply working with a few other people to make something interesting to play in the off season. There's been no discussion about this being a league, that's way way down the road if at all.
The hardest thing about it will be gaining interest from the player base while the population slowly decreases. Anything from here on out will be more difficult to start than it would have been a year or two ago. Either way it's a win win situation because the previous TWSD was just taking up space on the TWD website and in the twsd arena's. It wasn't popular then so if it becomes popular now then that's another thing for the community to enjoy, and if it doesn't then it's no worse than it was before it began.
Don't flatter yourself, I wouldn't care what you thought of it whether it was a success or not much less want to "shove it in your face"

as I've said before simply removing random damage would have saved twsd
Personally I think what would be much more exciting would be a varied map open and closed) with any ship dueling, meaning a team picks 4/5 ships (4/5 ship changes allowed) - each gets 10 deaths, they can be anything (1-8), and they can use whatever tactic they want to win (no matter how lame it is - for example being all sharks and mining so much the other team of all warbirds cant get to u :P), all ships start on 200bty so LTs could have a place in the tactics i imagain. Basically no rules. last team standing wins. That would have the added advantage of catering for everyship.

SeRtIfi> What's the point of going out with friends everyday just to hang out when I meet them in school and sometimes on weekends anyways, if I can play in SubSpace with them?
