Even though I'd love to go into a discussion with Kthx about what league is the best, I'll pass on this great occation and skip to the point:
I have been thinking about making a thread like this myself, and I agree completely with Vatican. I'd love a 15 second delay on shipchanges/switches to be certain that this doesn't happen anymore, 5 is too little as it can be done right after a td.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

I understand you guys all play 5 spiders every game, so the only reason you can think of using a shipchange is to switch sharks around quickly to get insta-reps or get rid of bad mines.. however a 15 seconds penalty should be enough for no squad to consider using a jav or wb for even a couple of minutes, so it's basically the same as eliminating shipchanges..
Then again the last of the two squads who made TWLB worth caring a dime for seems not be returning, so do w/e.. woo 5v5 spids every TWLB game from now on, this MUST finally be Pandora's year..

psst
a 4-spider limit is still a possibility

I like 5 spider games so I don't support a 4 spider limit, but I also see Brams point.
Let's find another way to solve this.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

If you magically create a lagfree TWL I'll support a 4 spider cap, but as of now warbirds and javs benefits much more from lag than spiders does. I prefer lag to be as little noticeable as possible.
Having your warbird/jav kill the terr through some fluke lag is about as satisfying as watching their terr lag out, I'd rather have a fun flagroom battle going. I may just be a freak looking to play this for fun rather than just for the sake of winning.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

How would making it so you can't do two ship changed within 15 seconds of each other affect teams playing with specials? And I'm not sure how this leads to a reference to Pandora's ability to lose TWLB finals games.
Oh so if your wb/jav line up is sucking and you need to go back to a real line up like 5v5 spids then you would have a frustrating time, gotcha.

At times, especially during heavy flagroom fights 4 spiders can get overrun by 5 spiders quite easily (if those 5 spiders decide not to be camping wimps), because the WB/Jav has not enough room to recharge and get a shot in. Then a quick change (NOT A CHANGE THAT TAKES 15 SECONDS but more like REGULAR spawn-time) is very much worth it.
Then when you either lose or win the FR you change one spider again. Losing = change 1 spid to jav as soon as you clear lower base. Change 1 spid to wb as soon as you clear the FR so those annoying camping-spiders can't get their lines into the fr-entrance.
Also I can make it from spawnzone into FR as terr within 15 seconds. So there's your 15 seconds.
Suck it! :P
PS. I'm usually against the 4 spiderlimit, but then again I'm against any other limit than max 2 sharks. Not that it matters, there's about 99 conservative basers for every creative one.. without a limit most games will be 5v5 spids.
PPS. As far as I remember Pandora has never won vs a lineup with a jav (or even easier with a jav+wb), and are the second best squad to use 5 spiders. So forcing other squads to use 5 spids would suite you guys. And when you'd be forced to use a jav/wb, every squad would become a serious challenge to beat. (unless u'd get a proper jav/wb to join and your spiders would learn how to play with/vs. a jav).
PPPS. Sorry, too long post for someone who doesn't play atm. :x

Bram, maybe we are not thining about the same thing here. The 15 seconde rule does not mean when you make a change it takes 15 seconds for it to go into effect. It means that after you make one ship change (or switch) you have to wait 15 seconds to make another one. Is that what you thought I was trying to implement here? So basically you chnage one ship to spider and you have to wait 15 seconds to change back to special, seems doable to me?

It would be easy as hell to implement a timer on switches. It could also only come into effect if it involved a shark player (that's the only ship that can abuse this, right) and be instant for wb/javs/whatever.
I should try to get dev access and do this shit up.sdg

why hasn't this idea been implemented yet?
tired of seeing idiot sharks get away with a bad mine that i could've used to gain entry. i swear it seems like i see this loophole abused almost once a game anymore.
just make the delay apply only when changing from a shark to another ship. that way you don't screw over ships you wanna change around for legitimate reasons. it's gotta be possible to set a delay for just one ship with this bot core.
basically, it'd go something like this:
:MatchBot:!change Jason:3
(MatchBot)>Your ship change will be processed in 5 seconds.
5...4...3...2...1
Jason changed from ship 8 to ship 3
then on the change back, it would just be a straight up change with no delay. and, of course, the 5 seconds is negotiable.
EDIT: i'm stupid and lazy and didn't read any of this thread. so yeah, i see that stab just posted this same deal before me, and probably someone else posted it before him. oh well!jasonofabitch loves!!!!
