I like this idea. How do you determine who is a "vet" and who is a "pubber?"Last edited by MegamanEXE; 02-07-2013, 01:32 AM.

It's an awesome idea, as long as it doesn't interfere with TWL play. We should have an experimental off season with it. If staff is finding that people are taking advantage of this system, pull the plug on it. No harm done, in fact.. more activity, more new faces emerging in the basing division, and more potential competition in future twlb. Win win situation.

For something substantive and long-term really requires a concerted effort from the community. Recognizing that its not realistic to expect vets to stay on farm squads long-term (and finding solutions like limited doublesquading or w/e) and some twd op support is pretty crucial.Originally posted by Jeenyuss View Postjust fuckin do it. fuck squads with reputation and history, just get seven or eight people who have a bit of experience, recruit new players, and just fuckin do it
We've seen some great efforts from Royst and others but they haven't lasted, just jumping in and hoping for different results won't work. We need to empower our vets without the Sophie's choice of either pene/panda/sage/sweet/etc. or a training squad- and let them do both. And we Need two squads or the ability to play ourselves so its not a 15-3 shitfest every game demoralizing newbs and sending them back to pub.
Without those two key elements its destined to fail.

Yep, I've been thinking about this also for a while now, but as most of ppl in TW agreed: wait 'till TWL is over, then start doing this.

just fuckin do it. fuck squads with reputation and history, just get seven or eight people who have a bit of experience, recruit new players, and just fuckin do itOriginally posted by Claushouse View PostI've tossed this idea around to a few veteran basers and most of the feedback was positive, although a few wanted to wait to participate until after TWL. Basically we're planning on creating two squads, call them Red Fox and Blue Fox for example, and play primarily against each other, but also vs. other squadrons.
How this differentiates itself from squads like Tenure is:
1) two squads instead of one, so the persons learning are able to play other new people and not getting massacred and disheartened every game
2) veterans double-squadding on both squads to bolster activity and teach new persons the game
So, for example, a bd might look like this:
Red Fox
pubber1
pubber2
pubber3
Shayde (TW)
Spikey (TW)
a2m (TW)
pubber4
pubber5
Blue Fox
pubber6
pubber7
Trasher (TW)
Spezza (TW)
Royst (TW)
pubber8
pubber9
SquallFF8 (TW)
What is required from TWD ops/developers:
1) not banning vets doublesquadding on either of these two learning squads (perhaps using alts with (TW) or (V) or something identical to their current TWD name in use)
2) disabling both squads on the ladder during TWL qualifications to not impact who gets in
Both important points, but especially the former -- it's extremely hard to get enough veterans to join a training squad -- and doubly so with two of them running concurrently to play each other.
I think this would be a boon to both new players as well as older ones in increasing TWD activity and helping maintain/increase league population.
Let me know what you guys think. Also a TWD op response as to the question of double-squadding would be much appreciated -- can't move forward without that element.

Bunch of other people's ideas mixed into yours. Staff had 0 interest in those so i doubt anything will.become of this.
