Week 4 overview
Greetings from poolside here in Canaries. Looks like you had really interesting weekend with some big games building up for next weekend, as alot is still undecided.
Now to games:
Ambush
4th week rating: enough (2 wins from 5)
How is it going overall: dreams of getting bye week are gone, but they secured playoffs with those importants wins they got.
Ambush weekend got off with a shocker, and quite possibly most onesided duel match of entire league with -26 loss to Cloud. Everyone except for 7* Rojo blew, with Kangal (1-10) and azuline (2-10) worst performers. Saiyan with 5-10 was probably not awake as well.
There was correction of mistakes in second game though against Prime, with azuline leading the pack with respectable 14-8 and rest of team following nicely. Another good perfromance from Rojo.
Single jav game against Thunder went well 6* ibex once again stayed alive nicely and saiyan/azuline did the job with comfortable win.
In base game Ambush was missing some key players, mainly hulk, so it lined up vs undefeated pure luck with 1.5 less vps. They put up a good fight, but ultimately failed to beat inspired shark duo of willby/mark and more spider firepower in pure luck lineup. Second game vs power, once again with weakened line went to final seconds, which seems remarkable, looking how ambush got outkilled by 100, but looks like both team got similar amount of Teks, so it was balanced affair until end. IN the end 2 losses for base.
Tasks to work on: With playoffs secure, its chance to just work on teamplay and prepare for most important games coming up.
Pure Luck
4th week rating: decent enough (3 wins from 5)
How is it going overall: Among top 2 teams and with good chance of winning main season
Pure luck started weekend with 2 clear losses in wb, which has resulted in a weird situation where they now look weakest in wb, where they were predicted to do best before league started. Against terrorist, neither of their top 3 wbs were really shining and with Banks going 2-10, they failed to take advantage of 5v4 gameplay they had for several minutes. It was even worse vs cloud where noone but dak got positive score and they were clearly outplayed. So not sure if this is an issue of complacency vs teams that are fighting for their survival, but certainly a worrying sign.
First jav game went well though, with Tiny mvping 16-8 and rest of team supporting nicely resulting in comfortable win against Prime. Second game against Thunder was much closer vys with mvp performance this time, but key here was team managing to survive with +5 win in the end.
In single base game, pure luck beat ambush, game i briefly described before, so pure luck has only 1 more game to go undefeated in main season in base.
Tasks to work on: only thing that could be worrisome is late performances in wb. Otherwise, they have played really well and are among top 2 teams this league, just enjoy last weekend.
Power
4th week rating: Okeyish (3 wins from 6)
How is it going overall: 1 point above playoff line, but very tough games ahead for last week
Power had full weekend with 2 games in each league and they managed to score exactly 1 win from each league as well, keeping them barely above playoff line.
In game vs dice, they couldnt stop creature doing his things, zidane and spectacular were also not too spectacular, but in game vs terrorist they finally got their first win of this season. It was very close win with zidane, stayon and dare managing to survive in the end with 9 lives against dw/iron survivor after bacon and okyo had been eliminated.
Same story continued in jav with first clear loss against inspired cloud team, but in rebound match got an easy win against Prime with zidane mvping.
And to continue the rhythm of this weekend, they started base with very close loss to Thunder, despite having 2 vp advantage and also comfortably beating them in kills after what i can only assume was last minute choke of somekind of very brave flag hold. Power did manage to turn second game to win though, after beating Ambush by only 15 seconds with stayon/bacon and okyo unleashing fury upon their opponents.
Tasks to work on: Unlike cloud, Power still has 3 games to play next weekend, with race being incredibly tough, each point matters. What makes it tough is that in wb they face cloud and in jav thunder, both direct competitors and in base they have to face still undefeated pure luck. So although power looks above line now, they can still drop out.
4th week rating: Keeping hopes alive (3 wins from 5)
How is to going overall: Currently 1 point below playoff line
Glad to see legendary, like other bottom teams, did not throw the league, but showed up and with some crucial wins kept their hopes alive for last weekend.
Their single wb game was a loss to Dice, despite mvp performance from Bombed (18-10) and raazi with another strong game (14-10). Captain lonestar just couldnt do much with 1-10 and autopilot dissapointed with 4-10.
First jav game showed legendary has potential with 8*+ lineup with great teamwork from everyone and staying alive. Terrorist of course played 2,5 vp under, so perhaps legendary also got a bit lucky with this schedule. In second game they got clearely beaten by cloud with absurd doing dissapointing 2-10.
In base, it was on schedule to fight against Prime, which has resulted a win for every team in this season and legendary was no different. BUt second game and 1 minute win vs Thunder was truly the game that kept Legendary hopes alive for still making it next weekend. With Thunder being also 2 vp down from max, legendary lined incredible 46.5vp spider lineup vs 40 from Thunder resulting in almost 100 more kills.
Tasks to work on: Legendary is 1 point below playoffline, but they do have jav game vs prime next weekend and prime being now completely eliminated, they may be an easy win and extra point. IN wb they face terrorist, legendary arguably has been better in wb, so another point could be in line and in base they are facing ambush, who has already secured playoff, this game can go either way as well. So legendary has to show and be strong and they can still make it.
Dice
4th week rating: perfect weekend (5 wins from 5)
How is it going overall: Among top 2 teams
Ever since creature has started showing, dice has been really on fire and undefeated weekend shows they mean business.
They first beat power in wb with creature going 16-8. Then took out legendary, with banzi this time leading the show with 16-7 (based on this season games, he should be really higher rated
).
In jav they had 1 game, where they comfortably dispatched terrorist with everyone on team doing nice job.
And in base game they had that last minute close game against cloud, where both cape and zizzo terriered and then comfortably beat prime for second base game.
Tasks to work on: Dice looks very strong, especially in duelling leagues and with pure luck clearly the most complete team out there. Lets see how playoffs go.
Terrorist
4th week rating: horrible (1 win from 5)
How is it going overall: pretty bad, but early season performances have kept them floating
So terrorist only managed to score 1 wb win, but as teams below them also choked, they are still pretty much secure for playoffs (they got base game vs prime in schedule for next week).
All started well with comfortable win vs pure luck. Iron survivor mvpd with 15-6 and christian10 put up a great fight as low vp going 11-6. Second wb game was close affair against power, but in the end Iron couldnt do much as rest of team was eliminated.
In jav terrorist had to play with 40.5 vps against legendary with commodo MIA. Clark kentaro had dissapointing 3-10 and rest of team couldnt compensate so another loss was inevitable. Second game they played with even less (40vp) against dice and result was expected loss.
In base they had only 1 game vs cloud, who was playing like another team last weekend. Cripple had to shark again as commodo was missing, so spiders were missing some firepower and in the end Terrorist had to face another loss.
Tasks to work on: they should be pretty secure for playoffs as they will get another point for base game vs prime (does not even matter if they show or not), which makes them safe. Still very up and down season for terrorist, hopefully they get better shows for playoffs.
Cloud
4th week rating: fuck you Lee (5 wins from 6)
How is it going overall: never say never, Cloud is back
What a week from cloud. From start to finish there were some really inspired performances, which have resulted in cloud being back in playoff contention.
All started with most onesided game for this entire league with Cloud demolishing Ambush with mythril going 15-3 and singer performing well with 12-3. They did not stop there and pure luck was next poor team facing inspired cloud team with 100 this time mvp with 16-9.
IN jav cloud finally had all key players online and power had no response to their great teamplay with very solid win (just second in entire league). Legendary were no opponents for cloud as well with kado making rare show (and making myth sub himself out). Once again no standout performance from any invididual but great teamwork and solid staying alive.
In base, dutch baser has been getting better with very solid 53-4 but poor end of game resulted in first loss against dice. BUt second game was much smoother with terrorist beaten and renzi doing great in spider.
Tasks to work on: So cloud is now right there with other teams, when it comes to making it to playoffs. They have 1 big issue though, they only got 2 games left vs all other teams around them. They need to beat power in wb, which should not be hard considering power is one of the weakest wb teams out there and then there is jav game vs dice and thats it. So even if cloud manages to win 2 of their last games, it may not be enough. Still what a push and comeback.
Prime
4th week rating: horrible (1 win from 6)
How is it going overall: at least people showed
So Prime is now officially eliminated, but really big thank you for top players in showing up and fighting until the end. They even got a win in wb with racka/strong having good games. But rest of games really went as entire season, so no point in talking about it longer.
Tasks to work on: Prime has 3 games left, hopefully they still show and fight.
Thunder
4th week rating: horrible (1 win from 5)
How is it going overall: now in real trouble
So Thunder is now really in trouble. After 2 very poor weekends they are barely hanging on to playoff spot and if same form continues they are in trouble.
All started with poor wb game vs prime, where ease 3-10 was really unexpected, menelvagor also once again dissapointing with 2-10.
In jav they had no response to ambush with entire team playing below expectations, draft especially poor with 4-10. Second game vs pure luck was better, but mikkiz going out already close to 8th minute was hard to compensate. Rainbow seeker had also one of "those" games, being subbed out at 2-7 at 7 minutes.
They then manage to beat power in base, despite being 2 vps down. This last minute win could be one of those moments, that decides the fate of either team. Same can be said with close loss vs legendary in second base game.
Tasks to work on: What Thunder has going for them, is that they still got 3 games to play, so all is in their hands. Games will be tough though, Ambush in wb, power in jav and dice in base. All those teams have better records in those leagues than Thunder.
So 1 more week to go and we got 4 teams fighting for 2 playoff spots:
Power (currently 10 points) 3 games to play
Thunder (currently 9 points) 3 games to play
Cloud (currently 9 points) 2 games to play
Legendary (currently 8 points) 3 games to play.
So here is how things would get really interesting. Just did some predictions, but looking at results, that are needed for all 4 teams ending with 11, are fairly realistic:
WB: Legendary beats Terrorist, Cloud beats Power, Thunder beats Ambush
Power (10), Thunder (10), Cloud (10), Legendary (9)
JAV: Legendary beats Prime, Cloud beats Dice, Power beats Thunder

BASE: Thunder beats Dice, Legendary beats Ambush, Power loses to Pure Luck
