  • TWDT32 Structural Overview - What You Need to Know

    General League Information

    # of Teams: 8
    # of Playoff Teams: 6
Captains: Mythril, RaCka, Dreamwin, Zidane, Turban, Morph, (TBD), (TBD)

We're looking for two more high star multi-leaguers to fill out the rest of the captain list. We have backup options if needed, but ideally we have the captains building their teams in the draft from a similar starting point.

    Season Schedule

Draft Date: February 22nd, 2026 at 2PM EST
Regular Season Start Date: March 1st
    Quarter-Finals: April 19th
    Semi-Finals: April 26th
    Championship Games: May 3rd

Note: If there's a wave of new signups prior to the draft, we will entertain the idea of more than 8 teams which could alter the schedule.

    Game Order (Eastern Time Zone):
    - TWDT-J: 2:00PM, 2:30PM
    - TWDT-B: 3:00PM, 3:30PM
    - TWDT-D: 4:00PM, 4:30PM

    Draft Format

Draft order TBD. This is highly dependent on the final captain list.

    Free Agency

This season will not entertain the idea of free agency. If you're interested in signing up to play, make sure you sign up before the draft on February 22nd.

    Lineup Restrictions

This season is bringing back the star which which places a lineup restriction on the max star value a team can field in each match.

    TWDT-D: 42*
    TWDT-J: 42*
    TWDT-B: 67*

The maximum star cap is determined by averaging the ratings of all players per league and the number of teams (8). The goal is to provide an opportunity for parity between all teams in the draft while still promoting a high level of competition.

Note: The star cap is liable to change depending on new signups or adjustments to player ratings that may alter the math of the league prior to the draft. Check out WillBy's formula if you're interested in seeing how this is calculated.

    Playoff Format

Following the regular season, the top six teams will advance to the Trench Wars Draft Tournament playoffs, with seeding determined by each team's overall win-loss record across all three leagues.

The star cap restrictions from the regular season will remain in place throughout the playoffs.

The top two teams in each division will receive a bye to the semi-finals.

In the quarter-finals, matchups will be determined based on individual league standings. The third-seeded team will have the opportunity to choose their opponent, while the remaining two teams will compete against each other.

In the semi-finals, the first-seeded team will select their opponent, while the remaining two teams will compete against each other.

    Trades

Captains can make trades until the trade deadline of Friday, March 20th at 5:00PM EST. This allows trading before the fourth week of games.

    Cash Prizes and Rewards

The total cash prize money is $5,000 thanks to long-time Subspace Continuum veteran, Dad. There will also be a handful of other rewards. A more specific breakdown of how the rewards will be distributed is still being finalized, but there is a goal to reward individual excellence in the regular season in addition to rewarding the winners in the playoff tournament.

    J-B-D order is chef's kiss.

Easter Sunday in 2026 falls on April 5. Will there be a break due to nerds doing family stuff?

    Daylight Shit Time
US/CAN - clocks go forward 1 hour on Sunday 8th March
UK/EU - clocks go forward 1 hour on Sunday 29th March

This means that games on the following days will be 1 hour earlier than usual for UK/EU players:
    March 8th
    March 15th
    March 22nd

    Then returns to normal for:
    March 29th

US/CAN players are unaffected, games are always at the same time for you because the schedule is based on your region.

p.s. when writing schedule posts, don't write the schedule in EST or EDT, write ET instead. ET is your eastern time zone which changes between EST and EDT when the clocks change, EST and EDT themselves do not change when the clocks change.
