TWL Update

I think changing lenght of season and amount of squads are unnecessary.

Cpt made a deal with us that he would design the TWL-basing so that Spastic would repeat as champions no matter what happened. Either with bots, scheduling, cheating, etc. And in exchange we would make him the squadowner of Spastic. That's why he was working so hard on the bots in the beginning.

But then somehow we named him squadowner before and then he just quit doing the bots now that he's got his real dream position. What a flamer.

I really don't think the season should be shortened. I liked it when it was 10 regular season games, 4 playoff games and an all-star game. That's only 15 weeks. Throw in an 8 week waiting period after it and you can still get 2 seasons in a year. I think having it on a 23 week schedule would be super-fantastic.

I also think that 16 squads in each league works out dandy.

i don't think it would make sense to do 16 squads in 1 league and 14 in another since we are probably aiming to have them all end at the same time?

WR is still probably still not going into twl, I don't think sk8 cares enough (about twlb) to have attendance, so that'd give us 14 (which appears to be what push is suggesting).

It doesn't really make a big difference to me if its 14 or 16 teams. I don't believe there are 16 teams in each league that can compete at the TWL level. Weren't there a few teams last season that pulled a 1-9 rec? and one team with a 0-10 rec? Not to mention a few teams dropped out. 14 teams in each league may keep the league a little more competitive, also giving a less likely chance of squads dropping out, and you still have the TWD for the squads that aren't as competitive. It's not really a big deal either way I suppose. I just think it's best to try to avoid as many one-sided massacre games as possible.

When the TWL season is finished I think there should be a one month break before the TWD reset. This is to give time for the squads that dissolved to join other squads, and for new squads to form. If TWD were to reset immediatly after TWL is over, I think it would be kinda chaotic during the month or so of qualifying for TWL. There would be a lot of squad hopping and new squads forming while all of this is going on. A month break would just settle things down a bit.

To add on to ru list of 13 (including sk8 who is active enuff and - wr) u can add Tanked, BasingCrew, and maybe even an Elenya, or maybe Fire will put a run into it. U got to give some newr squads the chance to compete, as long as they are reliable to stay alive. I see atleast 15 squads who can compete atleast fairly well and win a few games in basing. Maybe even paladen could put another run into TWLB, i been seeing them practice and push it hard lately. And who knows when it comes down to it, maybe WR will put a run into it anyway.

I've been informed that WR will probably make one last run at leagues. And I don't think Fire will base at all. Most likely, Elenya or BasingCrew will get that last TWLB spot.

k yeah, i said i did it really quickly, didn't even read it over.

anyways, aside from that: there will always be squads better than other ones, and thus, there will be those 0-10 records or something similar. the real reason behind those records though, was that those squads didn't have to qualify for twl, the were carryovers from 2 seasons ago where most league spots were granted to squads, not earned by them, this has now changed.

last season we had:
diso, rampage, elusive, anti-scrub, melee, war angels, cripples, brit squad, pallies, light, spastic, mambo, whiterabbits, burning rose, no surrender, solstice, shriek, paladen, camisade, hck-limited.

granted those aren't all squads capable of winning twlb, and some of them did dissolve, but that is TWENTY squads worth of twlb players. add about a year since then and take the amount of time people have had to improve from playing twd or pub and that more people start playing the game than stop, and i think that number will have increased. subract the worst 4 of those squads and that's not a bad looking twlb i don't think, especially given that some squads that still exist from last twl who didn't play basing may take an interest in it now.
