Suggestion for twl

Not really sure if it would be worth it for ld and lj, but recording matches in lb and putting them on website will allow newer squads to see what they are up against and basing is just fun to watch. Haven't been in twlb yet but guessing there are more intense then twbd since everyone is supposedly playing their best. Maybe just record the playoff and championship match. Rinse might be able to help in recording it, he brought up the idea to us in the first place.

What would you record? Whose perspective? The attacking team? defending team? Flag room? It is a good idea if it can be arranged, will take some serious planning tho.

Having a spec in "free range" (when you move the arrow keys) focuses on the flag room. Now, how would you record the game? How many would watch it?

Screenshots would be a much easier method and could be used for the same purpose. Such as an article depicting the game itself, and screenshots to supplement it.

Mr. Ekted was/is working on something called SSVCR, which was a plugin for the PowerBot in powerball zone and it records games.
But it isn't that good, the only thing you can see are dots, and where the ball is.
It's very hard to record games I guess, and Mr. Ekted worked very hard on that. It will probably take a few months to make a recorder for subspace in which you can see ships, flags, tilesets, bullets, bombs, etc.

I downloaded this program Camtasia Studio 2 and found a crack for it, its easy to record games with , I've only used it a few times tho..

Heh didn't know this was here. I guess I can explain it.

I used to be addicted to GTA:VC, I always did stunts and liked to record them so I found a nice FREE program called Fraps.

This program was made to allow people to record videos of the games they play. Using Windows Movie Maker (till I can get something better :S) I can shrink the size of the file and change the format and such. The idea came to me when on RB forums we were discussing a game that not everyone was at. I felt recording the matches would help out a ton in discussing strategy and all.

The perspective would vary. If its a basing game and theres a FR battle you can basically get all of it on the screen. If its an attack on the cram most likely you'd spec the defending terr. I'll have to experiment with different perspectives until I found something I liked I guess.

Fraps isn't free. You can only record a low quality 15 second demo with the free version. There is a crappy free version but it is really old and doesn't record sound.

If they care enough to be prepared they would watch base games and the first some harder squads play each other in TWD. This is a good idea though.

Kolar recorded a few games himself last season, including the TWLD championship and the TWLB-all star game I believe. I'm not sure what he used to do it though.

Lunch brought a suggestion for TWL to the TWL forum. I am getting into the recording of matches so why cant lunch bring this up to the public? Sure if they want more info and they see me online then by all means I'll help, but why can't we discuss this here as well?
