Camping is an overused term. Playing defensive simply isn't the same as camping. I use the term 'camping' when a spider remains in a defensive position while it isn't putting pressure on the enemy. For instance when you're attacking a cram and a spider shoots from downtown and continues to do so while his team is already close to pushing in. Or when in a fr-battle a spider keeps sitting on the same spot eventhough his terr is under heavy pressure or a spider keeps sitting in a position from where he hardly puts pressure on the enemy.
Becoming a great defensive spider is a lot harder than becoming a great agressive spider. As defensive spider you need experience, because you're basically the backbone spider in the game, your job is to control the game while your teammate-spiders just have to worry about fragging-away. FR fights are most difficult for a defensive spider, first of all your biggest worry is keeping your terr safe, you should be the one keeping all javs/wbs etc away from your terr so he can get a good position in the battle. In the meantime you need to give back up to your fellow spiders, and make sure when they die you're always there to keep the enemy away for a few more seconds so you don't lose control over the battle. Squads that have only agressive players and are playing vs an equal opponent, usually lose control over the battle because their whole team dies in 5 seconds.
In cramming the agressive spiders die a lot, which is good because they put a lot of pressure on the enemy. But if all would play agressive the chance that you hold the cram alive is very small, since they usually get 1kill-1death, which means the enemy terr just has to wait till he has to deal with less bullets at once and then can push on. That's why the defensive spider should try to stay alive on the moments when other spiders are already dead. As long as you're blocking the way for the enemyterr he won't get in (unless your agressive spiders didn't get their 1kill before they died).
With that explained, I have to say that Spybreak! is definatly one of the best or maybe the best defensive spider out there atm. And saying he's too defensive and wouldn't take a bullet for his terr is obviously bullshit if you see how much deaths brookus gets in a game. I think because Spybreak! is hardly ever dead he is a great help to his terr.
I don't know how far Anti-Scrub will get, I still think they lack a bit of depth. Sure they got great sharks, the best terr and two great spiders, but is that enough? I always hope they reach the finals though. (Although with Erathia as their leader they're doomed to lose somewhere. :/)
ps. I don't think any spider plays a pure defensive-style. Myself, I play a defensive style when I feel like I need to keep control over the battle. And then switch to a more agressive style when I feel it's safe to play more agressive.
I am not a spider expert, (i'm the base bird, for those of you who haven't been paying attention) but I know that the nature of the game is such that being a positional spider is not as good as being adaptable to the situation. Trying to call "defensive" or "aggressive" spider before hand is nuts- that's what makes our spiders so special, is that they're better than all of you at all sides of the spider coin. Koan? Sleepy Weasel? Hellzno!? study them.
