Look not at the way the squads are sitting now, but how they were seeded before the start of TWL. Ops didn't "try" to make fair conferences, they DID make fair conferences with the best available information they had at the time. Who could have forseen the mishaps that have taken place this season? It's kind of grasping at straws to try to get conferences removed. If you don't make playoffs because your division is really competitive, it doesn't mean it's less fair. What's fair are the rules, boys. Not the competition level. If you want "fair" why not just suggest skipping regular season altogether and go straight to playoffs? If you're stuck in a bad way, then that's just the way the cookie crumbled. Keep going and try your damndest next season.

Ofcourse this is brought up by people having a chance of not making playoffs.
When the conferences were made public you didn't complain, because you probably thought they were even. And I think that in some way they are, with the only difference that Eastern conference has 3 certain dropouts already.
Everyone was happy with the way conferences were made, but there has been a few upsets. Anti-Scrub came back stronger than anyone expected, where Disoblige disappoints big time. Now Shriek is banned the squads that make playoffs in Eastern Conference are kinda set.

Naw guys, u see the points is I made this thread before, and I got all sorts of replies. But I check the rules and it seems they've left it open.

I'd like them to now make the decision to take the top 8 from across both conferences because they're clearly too unbalanced to take the top 4 from each.

Then next season it seems more sensible to scrap conferences alltogether.

There is more competition in our conference, and it is fairer that the twl ops pick the top 8 from both conferences. The TWL Ops I suspect made their best effort to make each conference equal in strength, but very apparently that is not the result.

It should be top 4 from each conference. In professional sports, often the 9th team from one conference (usually the West- isn't that an interesting coincidence?) is better than some playoff teams in the other. That's the way it is, let's not change it now. Conferences can be rebalanced next year. For now, let's relish the ultra-competitive situation in the West.

The main thing he's talking about is that in the official TWL rules, it states that the playoff format will be decided by the TWL Ops according to the no. of teams and also the competitiveness of the teams. Obviously the best way is to take the top 4 from each conference (otherwise it's pointless to have conferences) but the rule writers did put that rule 2.06 in there, probably just for a reason like the one in TWLB right now.

There is no way that the people that make the conferences can be fortune tellers. Like others mentioned, I doubt anyone predicted Disoblige to suck so bad, nor for Shriek to be banned from TWL. You do have to look at the rule 2.06 that RabbitRapist pointed out, though.

Take a look at EVERY(I could be wrong but in that case it's most) Sport in the fucking world, if they have playoffs, and conferences or divisions or whatever, then they choose the best teams from each conference, not from the league as a whole. It wouldn't make sense to take the top 8, that would make the conferences pretty damn dummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmb

Sexed has accepted their invitation to join TWLJ. We will have their team information available on the web site asap. Speaking of this web site, we've got a few things going on and some fixes that are finally going to get done. Check this out:

-We've got a new crew for Hot or Not! Fit of Rage and Nickname will be rocking the Hot or Not for the rest of the season! Thanks to Fidel and R. Yang for all their help!

-Stats and scores will be fixed asap. An old backup of this site was loaded not too long ago, and we're still fixing the issues caused by it.

-I'm going to work on getting the match reports I've been sent and some of the one's from forums available to read on the stats page for games.

TWL Playoffs

There has been a lot of speculation and questioning about just how the TWL Playoffs are going to work. Well I'm here to tell you that a lot of you were right.

TWL Playoffs this year will feature Cross-Conference playoff seedings with the top four squads from each conference making it to the playoffs. The games themselves will be seeded by ranking. Here's how it will work:

Playoff Quarterfinals

West #1 vs East #4
West #2 vs East #3
West #3 vs East #2
West #4 vs East #1

Playoff Semi-Finals

Winner(West #1/East #4) vs Winner(West #2/East #3)
Winner(West #3/East #2) vs Winner(West #4/East #1)

TWL Finals

Remaining winners from the Semi-Finals will compete for their respective TWLD, TWLJ, or TWLB titles!

Playoff Game Structure

TWLD & TWLJ

Throughout the playoffs, each game will consist of three rounds, with the best of three being the winner (must win 2 of the 3 to advance). Each player will be given 10 deaths, and all other TWLD/J dueling rules and standards will be in effect.

TWLB

Quarter/Semi-Finals: These two rounds will be single elimination with the winner being the first to 20 minutes.

Finals: The Finals will consist of 3 rounds, with the winner of each round being the first to 15 minutes. The first squad to gain two 15-minute victories will be the TWLB Champion.

Conferences ARE dumb. At least I can't figure out what the whole point with them is. Maybe somewhere they have geographical reasons but it can't apply for a 2d spaceship game, surely.
