Spider's a tricky one to judge by record, because it's arguably it's arguably more telling (the record) with spider than any other ship, but still hardly the first thing to look at. My point is:
Sleepy Weasel and Hellzno! are two of the best spiders out there. Watch them vs. Syndicate tomorrow- they are so fucking smart and well-placed it's amazing. I've played a ton with these guys, I should know.Comment

seriously tho, sleepy weasel doesn't get enough credit. He practices half as much as every single spider mentioned above, and yet can still rack up the kills and play smarter than any spider i know. There are only 2 currently active spiders i trust 100% at my side, and he's one of them(the other being koan). If this was a year ago tho, it would easily have been rogermexico.

Dude you know so little about basing, that I can't understand why you'd think anyone cares who the hell you "really" are. You predict Basingcrew as an outsider for the title, while they're obviously already out, and now you just made a top 5 of spiders based on, I quote, ratio, kills per game, MVP status, and perhaps a little personal bias. How can you be surprised people react 'unintelligent' ('this thread is bullshit') when you haven't said anything intelligent yourself so far and in the meantime act like you're some fucking basing-authority. It's pretty obvious to me that that might annoy some people.
If you think it takes too much time to make an intelligent post about who are good spiders, then don't make a post at all. Right now it looks like you just have no clue what the role of a spider really is. But don't worry, I'm a bit bored of losing to A2k in scrabble, so I'll teach you some.
Spybreak! is indeed a great spider to have on your team, as long as everyone else works their asses of and plays very agressive. With just players like Spybreak! you won't achieve anything more but having a very nice kill-death rec. I'm not a big fan of using just agressive spiders either. Although usually they can pull it off versus weaker squads or squads that use a jav. In my eyes it's best for a squad when they find a good mix of spiders, agressive and defensive spiders. The most valuable spiders are those who can adapt during the game, this is mostly just experience really, and know when to change their style. This improves the teamplay of the squad by A LOT, a lot more than having a great recwhore or a great killer on your team.
I for instance would always pick Koan on my team, no matter who I already picked. But I've no doubt that most topsquads have a lot of spiders like that, who can adapt to their fellow spiders. Too bad those spiders usually won't get the best ratio or most kills, but get those kills or deaths that are really important. I'll give you an example, -Final-, do they have outstanding spiders? Not really you'd say. They simply excell in teamwork making it a top line. Do Disoblige have great spiders? According to predictions it seems like everyone thought we do, and although I'm probably a bit biased, I think we do aswell. But our teamwork just wasn't there yet this season. Some core spiders dissapearing or getting inactive, some new spiders coming in, we just didn't really glue, in my eyes we had a bit too many defensive spiders.
That said, spiders like Lunch3, Spybreak!, no offense to these guys, they're great individual spiders, but in my eyes the other spiders have to form around them instead of them adapting to the other spiders, which would never make them the greatest spiders. I didn't really watch any games this season, so I can't say who are the best spiders. I'll just pick those 4/5 who win the twlb this season..

In the end my point is that basing is really easy. You just need to make sure your sharks lag a lot, but do not lag too much. And you need to make sure your spiders aren't all too agressive and not all too defensive. Having a kickass terrier and a kickass javelin will bring you much joy too, except most squads still have no clue how to fit a great javelin in to their team.
Also, Anti-Scrub for champions. These guys really earn it since they've been such shits for so much years and now seem pretty good (I didn't really see any games from them this season, actually I haven't see any other games than those from Diso.)Comment

the reason why spy (and a-s) is able to pull it off is because we have 2 i-dont-care-about-rec aggressive spiders: holydude and nosey. with those 2, spy (or me sometimes) were allowed to lay back a little and play defensively (or camping if you want).1 + 1 = 1Comment

When I said I'd like to see BasingCrew with the upset, that doesn't mean I suspect it will happen, I'd just like to see it because no one expects it. You know what they say about assuming.
If I am so horribly wrong, I highly recommend just ignoring me, because you can sure bet I will be ignoring you.
Likewise, I don't act like a basing authority. There is another assumption on your part. I am putting MY opinion out there, and with 204 spiders and no real good system for tracking how good they do, it's IMPOSSIBLE to see it all, and I so I used statistics.
If you assumed I was coming out like the foremost authority on basing, that's the fault of the arrogant stick being in your arse, not mine. I'm not claiming to be better than anyone or know more, but there seem to be a lot of people who get a lot more balls the second they get up here and turn anything into an excuse for a pissing contest.
