I'm not sure what rules you are reading.
No one said anything about it being against the rules. It's just that you wouldn't (shouldn't) expect to see comments about donkey porn and gay porn on an offical TW site.
I think you will do fine, just maybe tone it down a bit?sdg

The problem here was that a "racist term" was used, that according to current TW policy would be a big offence. Could perhaps get banned if it would happen in-game.Originally posted by StabwoundEkko trust me, it's not worth getting upset about it. I guess this is the problem; when the people who write the Not section use it as a spotlight to be a dickhead to people they have personal problems with.

I think the hot section is a nice way of giveing old and new players recognition for playing good games. The not section is alright if it is just light hearted banta amongst friends but this weeks not section seemed a little harsh with regards to ekko. You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

You obviously don't even have to read it if you're afraid you're going to feature in the week's not section.
However, I disagree with the use of racist terms/slang in semi-official articles.6:megaman89> im 3 league veteran back off

Even though it is an opinion, the writers should remain as factual as possible. The criteria they use to make their subjective opinions on should explained and be consistent. If this were true, (about the criteria being published and consistent), then who actually writes the opinion wouldn’t matter that much. Of course some ‘license’ needs to be granted, and by all means be truthful and even ‘edgy’ at times.
But, IMHO, Apt’s piece was way over the line. If I had control of it, I would have made him rewrite it. I read it as nothing more than a juvenile flame-fest seeking retribution on people he doesn’t like or respect.
Since it is published on the league site, it carries the approval of the league. It is one thing to come on these forums and voice a personal opinion. It is another to have racist remarks basically sanctioned on the league site. I would venture to say that those people who enjoyed reading this opinion are the same people who enjoy reading the Trash Talk forum. Nothing wrong with that, but my opinion is that the league should not provide a vehicle for trash talk. The intent of the column should be to generate interesting, but factual, reading.
This is the same as a food critic writing an opinion about a local restaurant. It is certainly expected and anticipated that the writer will provide an opinion. If he thought the food sucked, but all means say it. If he feels the service was horrible, say it. If the meal was over-priced, tell us. If you see cockroaches running around, by all means shout it to the world. But those are the criteria, quality of food, service, price, cleanliness. The criteria is not about how old the waiter is, what race or religion the waiter is, or whether or not the writer has an axe to grind with the waiter.
And sticking with this analogy, the newspaper who publishes the opinion has a responsibility and should understand that what it publishes reflects back on the paper.
