Now, I understand that a 5 spider team more often than not will beat a 4 spider team. But, I think everyone is missing the point that under the new rules, no team could actually use 5 spiders. It would just be another limit put in place on TWLB, such as the maximum of 2 sharks. And I think we can all agree that a basing team with a levithan would probably beat a basing team with 5 spiders, provided that it came down to cramming ability (as most basing games do.)

So by imposing a 4 spider maximum, the playing field is just as level as it previously was with the 5 spider style of gameplay. Before anyone argues that it would come down to the ability of the player in the specialty ship, and this negates my argument; consider terriers. Without a decent terrier, does any basing team stand a chance at winning a TWLB game, regardless of the talents of their spiders or sharks? We can all agree this is not the case.

How would you know wether a 5 spiderline is stronger than a line with 7 sharks or a lineup with 4 terriers and 4 levis?

There is a one terr limit, 2 shark limit, 0 levi limit and 0 weasel limit... why can't there be a 4 spider limit
If people don't want 4 spider limit because it limits you to play a desired team, remove all limits cause i want to play with 4 sharks and 2 terrs and 2 spiders.....

Every better player thinks of it this way... just cause those retarded people that can just camp and sit in a spot and shoot up or down the cram want it not to be touched cause it will get harder for them if they have to implement a ship that actually requires a decent amount of tactic/skill doesn't mean they have to be listened to...

So true, the old 5.05 rule needs to be clarified. As well as being consistent with the judgement through the whole season.
