one of the few caps that actually had the ability to create competitive squads out of lesser known players was randedl himself, but now he runs with a vet squad and accumulates top players like the rest of us.

IMO, most of the people on my squad were those lesser knowns that have just stuck with me. I don't kick people off my squad when they get good. . . For some reason they just haven't left yet.

i laugh at foreign and randedl's prediction but then again its not our fault that grapevine choked a 13 kill lead in the 3rd round, rookies couldnt handle the pressure.

Actually, im thinking in terms of the last several seasons... in the last 4 seasons, there has rarely, if ever, been a surprise semi-finalist in LD, much less a finalist or champion.

LOL you are so wrong. I seem to remember season 5 Onix in the finals! WTF! That was unexpected! And omg wtf! what's more, Melee season 6 WTF! Not to mention Grapevine season 7! lol. AND Pirates last season out of nowhere! None of those finalists were expected to do well. Granted, none of them won, but they did make it far enough to get lucky and win it.
