TWD is enough of a preseason ... no need for more non-regular-season games when TWL comes around. No need to use preseason for "testing" either becaus the bots should be already tested beforehand. Also, I'm thinking some squads won't care about it anyways and would rather opt out of preseason if they could.

So my suggestion is the just go straight into the TWL season. Discuss.

Considering that we've always needed 1-2 preseason weekends with bots that were supposed to work, I think it'd be a bad idea. I like preseason, it's a good "dress rehearsal" for squads and results in plenty of speculationg threads (I like those .

Preseason is fine as long as we dont make it last a month. If its 1 weekend of preseason to make sure bots and everything works thats fine, just dont drag it on like u'v dragged this offseason.

i agree with cig. Keep the preseason but dont drag it out for a month. If you can't coordinate all 3 leagues in one weekend, then span them over 1 full week, having ER's host them during the evenings on weekdays playing teams against squads that have similar timetables. I dont think anyone cares if they cant show their best line on a wednesday night league game when it's just a preseason.

It's always good to have a pre-season.

1) It's necessary when it comes down to testing the bots, and see how they function, what better way to do this, than to run replicas of TWL itself, known as pre-season? Going straight to TWL, without proper testing can ruin TWL from lack of consistency in it's stability. TWL can only be fun if it runs smoothly.

2) Some squads in Trench Wars use pre-season as a way to determine which players they would like to place in their starting line, for TWL. Most squads already have their starters on the plate and ready to bat, pre-season is useful and it can build confidence for the squad captains for their players, by seeing how well they play in a scenario thats so similar to the real experience itself.

Preseason is pretty much always needed when we have new bots. For one it's hard to get people to agree to help out and play a game to test the bots if you don't have some sort of preseason to force them to do it. And I assume they operate differently than the twd bots so you can't just easily test them out by using them for twd. And also I think a lot of the problems with the bots only arise when you see the kind of numbers in the arena that you can only get for twl games.

But preseason should really only be about the bots. If the bots work right away, then no reason to have more than 1 week of preseason.

I think, even if the bots are 100% flawless that the usual 2 pre season games should always be a feature. New people are playing twl every season so they need to test lines and such.

That's what TWD is supposed to be for. I'd rather be playing real TWL games than TWD or TWL preseason.

Okay, so how about, if squads want to have a pre season match they put their name down. Lets not rush twl just because we have waited for it for awhile. This is my first twl and I have been waiting patiently but dont want to ruin it by rushing right into the games.

That wouldn't help things start sooner if only half the teams played. Which is pretty much the only reason people don't want it. It's not that they wouldn't play in it over nothing, they'd just prefer to play twl than twl preseason.
