what can we do to help get more matches to be played on saturdays?

presently, we might as well just say that twl is to be played on sunday only. just look at this week. all of one match out of twenty four was scheduled to be played on saturday. what is the point of having saturday timeslots if no one ever uses them?

i've started this thread so that hopefully we can try to pool together some ideas as to how we can get more matches being played on saturday so that the matches are more spread out over the entire weekend. i know, from personal experience, that it's hectic and rough on staff to have to keep up with 6+ matches per timeslot. not to mention, the more games you have running simultaneously, the more likely we are to have bot crashes. (although luckily we haven't had too many problems with this thus far. kudos twl staff!)

i'm pretty tired, and as such my brain's a little fried so i only have one suggestion to start things off with. remember, we're only talking about ideas and suggestions here. you should of course post your opinion of others' contributions, but at the same time, there's no need to tear an idea apart. (i.e. we don't need any of this "omfg u dum fuk no way we doin that")

here is my suggestion:

perhaps we could enforce a rule in which all squads are required to play at least two matches per season per league on a saturday.

I do not like the idea of enforcing squads to play on saturday. At least not with the current system where you are allowed to negotiate a timeslot yourself. Maybe the whole system should be revised.

It is also difficult because this is an international league, meaning that basically all the saturday timeslots are too late for European players. So currently sunday is the only sensible day to have your match on and I do not see any reasonable way to make saturday a sensible option as well.

The staff/bots should also be able to cope with the amount of games played on any timeslot without problems. If they cannot, well, then you should ask whether or not they are qualified enough to run the league.

firstly saturday games can fuck off.
secondly without saturday games these one-league squads will stop trying to get games at an as terrible as possible timeslot for a three-league-squad. i think staff should just schedule all games on sunday, and first schedule the games from three league squads, preferably between 2 and 5 (1 est really sucks), and then schedule the rest of the matches into the open timeslots.

another suggestion:

being that people are so vehemently opposed to saturdays, if we're going to play all matches on sundays, why not only play two leagues per weekend? and always rotate one league in and one league out every weekend.

for example

first sunday: play twld and twlb
second sunday: play twlb and twlj
third sunday: play twlj and twld

and thus the cycle continues. yes, it will take more time to complete the league in this manner, but we wouldn't have everyone so upset over getting stuck with shitty timeslots. we have to come to a compromise somewhere.

We have a twld match vs Dice at 17:00. We dont even know if anyone can make that time :P
Last week we had our twlj match right after our twld match with brought allot of pressure on the players that had to play both matches.
I Think atleast one third of the matches should be played saturday, it makes it more easy for staff, prolly less lag or bot crashes and spectators can watch more games and dont have to choose.

With all do respect, all of this will just get things more complicated. The way it's working right now is fine, if people wanted saturday games they would schedule for saturday games.

Why force squads to play on saturdays when they can't manage it? The reason there is a sat and a sun is to that we have a choice. It just so happens to be that we do well with sundays.

I don't see a problem with letting squads play on sunday mostly. The squads don't mind, we have the hosts to fill up Sundays and it sorta gives everyone a real weekend.

so far the best suggestion i think has been the rotation idea. a possible addition to that idea may be to make the 2 leagues that are "in" on sunday and the 1 "out" on saturday. so each week 1 league is played on saturday. this would not only keep things interesting and allow more timeslots in general on sundays, but those squads (qs is the most obvious one) that only play 1 league and have things to do on sunday would still get their fair amount of games scheduled on saturday.
