what can we do to help get more matches to be played on saturdays?

mantra, it's not necessarily that i want saturday games. i'm just like the rest of you. i love playing on sundays. i was just hoping to stimulate some discussion so that we might come up with a way to make scheduling headaches go away. every squad gets screwed with shitty times at least a few times throughout the season, and i believe there has to be a better way. i'm just not sure what that better way is. currently, the only other day we have "officially" set aside for twl matches is saturday, so i thought maybe we could figure out a way to put it to use. it's definitely obvious though, after reading over this thread, that saturday is out.

so now, the question has become, "what can we do to fix the scheduling headaches every squad inevitably has to face?"

i definitely like your idea of reducing the number of squads. and i agree with you about the results we're seeing. sure, it's nice to have more competition, but what's the point when roughly a fourth of the participating squads get slaughtered all season long?

First of all, we're euros too. 2nd, the game was at 1pm EST which is from 6pm to 8pm in Europe mostly. 3rd: You wouldnt cause any impact in the game since you suck.

UG no ancients are on on saturday cause as i said we arent a geek squad. We dont play Saturdays and i feel including others that you deleberately put us in a Saturday slot to fuck us over.

False. I really really doubt this will get more attention to leagues, as you stated yourself when LB wouldn't be on, you'd just ignore LD and LJ, it's not pushing you to be competitive in those leagues.

Like I said, with the setup I suggested we wouldn't have to play ANY Sat games at all. All games can be on Sunday. Plus, I think every squad can play 2 league games instead of one.

I still think the benefits of such a setup outweigh any negatives. NN, TWL is already been a once a year deal for the past 3+ seasons. So I still don't get why you say there's too much offseason time. The TWL offseason time will still be the same as the current setup. I think each league will do better when they have their own designated time.

As for the comment on players that might for ex. play TWLB with BasingCrew, then jump to Pirates for TWLJ, and then jump to Shinobi for TWLD ... well, that's that. If they stay for the whole season on each of these squads then more power to them. Like I said before, rosterlocks still apply perfectly fine with the setup I suggested.

Lemme just add that lag will probably be better, bots will prob run smoother, plus if we go with every squad playing 2 games per Sunday, then within 8 weeks each squad will have played each other. 2 months and reg season is done. 1 month for postseason, or you can have 1 week midseason break, or have enough time for rescheduling games (now we can allow for maybe 1 rescheduled game per squad?), as well as all-star week or whatever you want. 3 months and league is over.

UG just to clarify the finnish way of drinking; go out and start at some place/someones home at around 7-9pm, follow by going to a pub/club, get home somehow, being wasted. Sucky thing is that all the finnish clubs close (at best) at 4am. Lucky portugese

I know what I was saying, didn't think it would need any addition guess it does.

Thats the way I feel about it, I'm sure allot of (newer) players who would normally never take a look at a TWLB match would when there's no TWLJ or TWLD around for example.

well hmmmmmm....some ppl have changing work schedules...not everyone is 9-5 mon-fri.....i have mon/wed/thur/sat....or mon/thur/fri/sun....and what not...i think it is kinda not fair for squad to not be able to play on sat....sk8... a "euro" squad and another "3 leaguer" has asked to play games on sat and was forced to play on sunday. wtf is w/ that? something should be done about having more sat games....but i dont know what. 8/

I have to agree with bram, it's kind of gay to have a 1 league squad getting a match played on Saturday while a 3 league squad is trying to get it all played on Sunday.

Look at this from 1-league squads point of view:

We only got 1 game, and 1 league to care about, and it's the only thing we have. We put in everything in 1 match a week, if the time is fucked, then we won't be able to have a strong line in the only match we have.

But a 3-league squad got 3 matches, if they fuck up one of them, they still got 2 other matches.

The right thing to say is that it's gay to force a 1-league squad to play on a time they can't play at.
