what can we do to help get more matches to be played on saturdays?

i like your idea elbryan, but i think you'd have to extend the euro vs american timeslots to 6 and leave the euro vs euro and american vs american at 3 a piece. the fact is we don't have a whole lot of completely euro squads and completely american squads. a very large majority of squads are a mix of euros and americans.

staff is a large part of the problem when it comes to making more saturday games. I know of at least two games last week where one side wanted saturday but staff was forced to make the decision instead, and of course chose the hugely busy sunday slots instead...is it just that staff are too lazy to want to come in on saturday or whats the deal? Whats the point of offering saturday time slots if staff are never going to choose them? If this is the case, squads who dont want saturday will never have to negotiate a time slot and will always win out over squads who want saturday...and its not unheard of to go out on sunday instead of saturday you know.

Yeah, thats a sucky situation. 1400 1500 and 1600 games are usually taken though by the time it gets around to scheduling because of 3 league squads. I dont know about slam but if our squad got scheduled for 1 pm sunday I'm fairly certain we'd forfeit. Sure euros can play all of those early hours since its still the evening for them, but if your squad has people on the pacific coast and people who work for a living, its really hard to make it at that time. For a one or two league squad if you guys just try and schedule for the afternoon you shouldnt have any problems getting it.

I still think that if two squads want to pick a time not in between 1 and 5 pm on sunday, it should be allowed assuming there will be a staffer available to host. This would lighten the load on those 3 pm slots if people used them properly. Also it would allow some euro squads to get their game out of the way earlier, and Americans perhaps later. Disoblige and -f- couple play at like 10 am ideally which is a nice afternoon game for them, while our game vs UF would happen at maybe 7 pm, since we both have PST players. Might make it a long day for staff but there are plenty of ERs+ who are capable of hosting

On a saturdaynight, in general, a lot of people would rather do some social thing in the "offline world".

Sunday's is, in general, a day of relaxing and having availbile time.

Since the most people are the general, hence it's called general, the sunday was picked to commit persons to be online at a certain agreed time, hence it should stay this way.

I agree with this. We should loosen things up, take special effort to scedule the bigger squads on special times. I'm sure if more communication was used this could be a very simple solution to lightening the load a bit. Hell if we can use a monday even, let's just do whatever works and not worry so much about the timeslots.
