Yes it's early. Yes TWL is not over. Here are my collective suggestions for an even better TWL next season:
Some are kinda minor, but I think it'll be great if at least 1) is implemented.
1) do TWLD TWLJ and TWLB seperately (3 months each with 1 month break in btwn)
- each league gets special spotlight
- easier scheduling
- possibility of each squad playing 2 games a week (this is huge in my opinion)
- less server lag -> better and more fair competition
2) reduce the number of squads in each TWL division to 14
- there is not enough competition to support 16 squads
- there's always twd to play if you don't make twl
- this allows for 3) below
- twd is emphasized even more now that there are only 14 squads in each league ... maybe more activity and better competition in twd
3) have each squad play every squad once (13 games in a regular season assuming there are 14 squads per league)
- less whining from ppl who say they have tougher cross-conference opponents
- see all the advantages in 4)
4) have only 1 conference with all 14 or 16 squads (depending on 2))
- easier than 2 conferences to choose playoff hopefuls (just take top 8)
- easier to see head-to-head (just easier to compare squads in general)
- less whining from ppl who think they're in the tougher conference
5) reduce max TWL roster size (assuming you implement 1)) to 25 or less
- TWL needs active participants
- less stacked teams
- who cares about the inactive ppl who play 1 game a season ... they don't contribute much to TW/TWL ... let them leave the game if they even can
- the above ppl can still play TWD, just not TWL, they're not wanted unless they play TWL matches and contribute to their team
- assuming you implement 1) ... you can even lower the max roster to 15 for TWLD and TWLJ, and 24 for TWLB -> there is now no excuse that "I'm a 3 league squad so I need 50 players on my roster"
6) make TWL website as good as TWD's website (minor point)
- matching websites just looks and feels good
