I guess Vat won't rest until he gets an explanation for all of this anti-Pandora behavior. I was going to leave it be, but he's been hounding me all day trying to get an answer, so I guess I'll oblige.

There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Care to take a stab at which side of that line most of Pandora was (and apparently still is) on? Oh, and let us not forget Eelam and Mouse's twin temper tantrums following their loss to Dice in week 5. Eelam in match predictions: "me + mouse dice has no chance mega will get owned". Mouse following the match: "dice cheats staff is biased fuck u guys im done with tw". Eelam following the match: ?squadleave + magically disappear from roster. Quick trip from the penthouse to the outhouse, eh boys? And don't get me started on how pathetic it was to send someone out for the sole purpose of logging spec chat. Honestly, there is no reason to care that much about what other people think. Spectators can criticize my in-game actions, wish cancer on me, accuse me of having a small penis, or say whatever else they like. Internet insults don't bother me, but apparently they make you quiver in a dark corner like a dejected child. I'll be sure to take advantage of that fact until you decide to stop letting it affect you.

Yes, TW players generally harbor ill feelings toward DSB players and squads, but there's a good reason for that. Consider the behavior of most DSB players when they come to TW. Then consider this scenario: You walk into someone's backyard and say "I'm better than you, this is my backyard now". Do you expect the backyard's owner to welcome you with open arms? Sorry pal, it doesn't work that way. The guy's going to defend his turf, and probably ship your ass out in a pine box.

Now that I've vented a bit, I will be the first to say that you guys deserve props for showing a lot of resilience, something that past DSB-based squads lacked. However, that doesn't change the fact that you brought most of this upon yourselves. Lose the unnecessary cockiness and maybe next season people won't be so eager to see you lose.

The negative response from people is because of your squad digging yourself into a hole by being arrogant, whiney, negative towards others and many other things. When eelam comes on my chats and spams me from other zones is an example of why others decide to hate on you. If your squad respected others then you would get treated better. Noone hates on anti-scrub or other squads who are generally more respectful because of the mutual respect to eachother. Not saying this as a generalization to your whole squad but it does apply to most of you.

indeed and so what if vehi made some dumb mistakes without veh we wouldn't have even made it this far cuz tim didn't show to a lot of matches earlier in the season... and guess what pandora didn't almost dissolve awhile ago i wrote a post saying how we werent because every1 kept flaming me on how it was and btw to finish in the semi finals and comming within a couple minutes of beating last years lb finalists is a pretty good accomplishment i think when u consider that for 4 of our spiders this is our first twl and its hard to attract old tw tallent when ur a new squad especially with a lot of dsb members. SO guess what we arn't dissolving after league either I'm proud of my squadies for comming this far and putting up with dsb related hatred (especially the tw guys)... so look for us next year now that we have a years experience under us...

As another season comes to a close, I just wanted to give my own personal Hot or Not picks for the year. What's Hot are the people who set up everything that goes into making TW so much fun and sustaining such an endeavor. From the Coordinators like Nethila and Pure Luck; to each of the staff who spend their time programming bots and keeping the game up and running; to the people like Rab and Nickname who give it an extra flare with added events and commentary which make this so much more than a "2d spaceship game" (lets let this be the last time anyone uses this over-used meaningless cliche term); to everyone who spends their personal time controlling this game, I thank you. I know there are tons of names that I am not mentioning, but to all of you I personally appreciate all that you have accomplished. No, I'm not trying to become staff or get on a squad.

What's Not Hot is the general needless negativity that has also come to define TW. After a long season and a great game against -Final- every member of each squad said gg to each other and then the people in spec immediately began to flame my squad. Maybe there's something I need to know about Pandora that I have overlooked, but I didn't feel such words were necessary or warranted. DirtyJackal logged the game's spec chat, and I just want to point out a general trend of hatred that I feel TW could well do without. Though this is a fun game, it is the relationships with people from all over the world that is really what this game is all about. Maybe I'm just being a hopeless sentimental, an incredibly naive fag, or maybe my squad really is full of assholes, but I think that there is something to be said and learned from the following quotes issued during our semi-final match today. So here it is, today's NOT winners:

WOW, Now thats a lot of hate! Well, obviously this isn't the entire log, I'll send it to you if you want to soak in the uncontrolled aggression, but I think you get the idea. Reading logs is always fun though, and if you've read this far, I bet you're just waiting for me to whine about it some more. I mean, thats what you guys want and expect, right? For me to whine and dissolve and trash talk? You certainly said it enough. Maybe I haven't been reading forums as much as I should, maybe my squad mates have made more of asses of themselves than I thought possible, but I think there's more to this than that.

It seems like PH must have gotten into a huge argument with Pandora that I missed, that's the only explanation for his calling DirtyJackal fat and dumb every time he got the courage to type something. DirtyJackal certainly dug himself a grave in the beginning, especially as we lost, and even I would have said something to make him shut up, but does everyone have to be so rude about it? I mean he didn't exactly do much more than make a lofty observation, and he isn't the first player to show a little arrogance. But I think one nasty comment from everyone in spec would have sufficed. But it just never ended. It dragged on and on, kind of like this post.

Maybe I've been missing an inter-league dispute between DSB and TW, but this seems foolish to me. I've been playing TW for a while, and I personally like it when fresh faces begin to play, and I think TW players and staff should welcome players from other leagues. If we didn't ever get new players, TW would become stale and would have died long ago. So why do we have players like Abbot saying he hopes Pandora goes back to DSB forever? He thought it was important enough to mention it twice. Do we really want less good squads in TW? Abbot has always seemed nice to me, has it all been a ruse? I don't think so, I think its just easy to start adding fuel to the flames to make himself be one of the accepted crowd. It would be a lot harder to question the pure hatred as I am doing. I think that because DSB is easily seen as seperate that it is easy to flame them in hopes of making oneself fit in. So now we have someone named Enishi making fun of Pandora's otherness, someone who doesn't have enough TW experience to know that they are mostly from DSB; he has to ask first. But he has enough experience to know that by joining in the flaming, he has become one of the boys.

I'll just finish with a final observation. Toward the end of the match, when it began to become clear that everyone's hopes of Pandora losing were going to come true, people began to anticipate the obvious whining and flaming and eventual dissolvnig of our squad. In their minds they could already see Eelam and Mouse yelling at everyone and fullfilling their prophecies. The prohecy was actually self-fulfilling; it is these same players who have themselves spent the entire match doing just that: whining and flaming and complaining. When Paul O, who I consider a friend, joins the chat he immediatly assumes that DSB shit talkers are at it again, and does so by talking shit himself:

No Paul, that isn't what was happening, but by the amount of shit talking involved I could see why you might think that. Cripple adds:

Well cripple, as you undoubtably failed to notice, as you you were busy typing YES repeatedly at the time, everyone from Pandora, and -Final-, showed respect by saying gg, as should be the case after any great game so late into the year. We didn't cut off Vehicles head, or instantly dissolve, we got to the semi-finals and were #1 for most of the regular season, it was an accomplishment to be proud of. It was the speccers who continued to trash talk after the game ended, making a great game look ugly. You guys spent the entire match trash talking even as you accused Pandora of doing it. So go ahead, call me fat and dumb, but I just hope that everyone who reads this log and sees their name before something nasty realizes that it is themselves that are doing the dirty work.
