Suggestion for TWL qualifications

Stop using the TWD ladder system, its too flawed and makes no sense.

Just a suggestion:

- squads need to 'sign up' for TWL qualifications (rosterrequirement, amount of twd games required)
- every squad that signed up need to play (for example) one or two games against each squad that signed up
- ranking just as in TWL (no points system as in TWD)
- each game has a ref to make sure there is no cheating involved
- autoqualified teams do not participate in this league (I think autoqualifiers should be (semi-)finalists)
- the top 10 / 8 (depending on how many autoqualifiers) will make it to TWL
- if there are a lot of teams you could make two segments of teams (just like in TWL) and perhaps playoffs for the last ticket to gain

Let's hold a league to decide who will play in the Trench Wars League. In order to qualify for the league that qualifies TWL participants you must qualify by meeting these qualifications:

• roster requirement (no less than 15 members and no more than 50 members)
• a minimum of 25 wins and no more than 10 losses (15 wins must come from other potential qualifying squads while the losses must all be to potential qualifying squads)
• diversity requirement (I'm sick of Euro/North American segregation!)
• coolness/fudge factor

This really is the best system.

TWD is fine.

Only thing that isn't fine is squads that play only easy squads to qualify.

TWD is fine indeed.... just make the ranking not just about rating... but also about AVG rating of squads you played again...

Just doing (Rating * AVG rating of squads you played) would make the rankings a lot fairer...
This way the not so good squads wont be afraid of playing higher ranked/good squads cause their AVG rating of squads you played will increase... so even a loss vs such a squad might make your superrating(no idea what to call it) go up...

For example... looking at the twd ladder for ld at the moment, would make the following ranking....

And yes, I do know pandora would be above penetrate for instance... but i just took the top 16 squads and made a rating of that...

This too me seems more fair... you see some of the supposedly worse squads drop a few places and some "good" squads increase a few...

This is already a way more fair way then how it's done atm... and when it's done this way, only change would be rival getting in over savanger... but i think it shouldn't be done this season, cause then you'd be screwing sav.. but implement it next season so people know about it.. and they are not so afraid to play the squads on top of the ladder...

Well, it has a few flaws, but every way of doing this will have flaws... you can never make it exactly as fair for every1... like if this was implemented, it would be hard for squads that requalify, like -final-, and hardly ever play a game to get a match of twd just b4 twl starts... cause they are low in rating... and most squads that try to qualify for twl are likely to lose to them...

I remember some people suggesting for next season to make the cut off for TWL qualification a random/unknown time within 1-2 days. That I think would cut down on the feeding (or maybe just the rampant appearance of it) and last minute scrambling.

ok well then think about this... A squad has been dding from the start of the reset and in the start they have to play squads with rating 1000-1100 because there isn't any higher ratings... this lovers the rating in the end.. then another squad forms 3 weeks before twd laddder lockdown and they start playing squads who's rating is up to 1500 and avg/easy squads who's ratings are 1200-1300. Doesn't that give the newly formed squad a major advantage over the squads that have played from the reset?yeah you can say that in time it will even out but it's much easier to get a higher avg rating when you just start playing later than the others... and then the "superrating" will be better for them.

On another note I fully agree on that something should be done to the system but to find a working way in this matter is going to be a hard process. The only thing wrong now is that there are squad who only newbfarm to make the twl cut and take spots from good squads who won't stoop down to newb farming...

i do think however they should play at least a minimum number of games during the twd season, and the 50% rule should apply to STARTERS for squads, because clearly if all of a squads starters leave to other twl squads the next season but you let the other squad auto qualify just for making playoffs or something then its clearly not the same squad even if all tis backups are still there
