It seems to me that wbs are about reflexes and instinct, while in basing and javs you can make up for your lack of initial skill to a large degree by practicing a ton, with the exception of terr in base. I say this as someone that has never been good at any ship, of course, so while my opinion is meaningless, at least it's unbiased.

As someone who has played on the highest level (twl playoffs) in all leagues I'd rank the leagues in difficulty level: wbs > javs > basing.
In LB and LJ the strategy is more out there (mainly because of the map), so it's a lot easier to get a hold on how to play, which makes it less difficult to become good in LB and LJ than in LD.
For LD it's a lot more difficult to find out in what ways you need to play to win. Because you play in a big open map, it's very difficult for a team to find out how to play so they gain positional advantage in a match. To win big games you have to find a way to surround and push around your opponents. And learning how to do this only comes firstly by improving your style of play, playing a lot in the same formation (you have to be able to predict how the guy next to you will react to a certain situation) and by studying your opponents (when i suck these days i just blame it on the fact i've no clue who i'm up against ) and of course concentration (that last part goes for every league ofc).
Of course how easily you can become good at a league probably still differs from person to person...

lol another elusive vs siege history lesson, cant help it but comment on it.. dont play anymore and its rare to find crome and epi in the same thread brings back good old times

like jack said, elusive generation 1 first was the best before resolution restriction when everyone was 2048x1536 basically if not at least 1600+, siege wasn't even formed then yet

final just dominated that one DD season right after elu broke up since we all ventured there (thats how final got its name / powerhouse start)

in the sense Siege really came into the scene when Elusive was on its last season (because everyone on elusive basically played another league), after that siege then took some of the active elusive players and used them to dominate another 2 seasons.

Elusive can be compared to Michael Jordan, Siege is like Kobe Bryant..

So Elusive is the best squad to ever play, so much so that every other good squad will be compared to it? And that Siege was nothing once Shaq left, and had to pay 5 million bucks for a ring for the wife he cheated on?

Keep the shit talk rolling, in fact if you really wanted to prove who has the bigger nuts, after this twl, Crome and banzi should bring back Seige and Epi + whoever should bring back Elusive. I'm pretty sure if both squads were even moderately active/serious they'd be the only contenders left in the finals next twl.

I think many would love to see Siege and Elusive back, or just one. I for one am happy to see Rampage back even if they're having a poor start. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see elusive/siege back just for the simple fact that both were successful squads and to bring either back and not have them be as successful would be too detrimental to the squads reputation (or rather the captains ego). That is to say, it's much easier to talk about how good your squad was before it disbanded but to say (and be accurate) your squad dominated before it dissolved and also upon its return years later would be much more difficult.

If they did bring it back, it wouldn't be as good as it use to be. There is only a handful of siege and elusive players that still play. That's what I think anyways.

Elusive and Siege again??? Damn. Well as a newer player back when these two were going at it I would have to say that Siege was the squad that I looked up to the most. I wud literally sit in elim spec and watch players like Banzi and Zeno and NYPD and the lot because I felt I could pick up more from them. I always considered Elusive to be the second best squad and Siege I think proved that through the years.

But like everyone else has said its very hard to make a 100% accurate decision on which squad was better. All I know is that playing vs siege was alot different mentality than playing vs elusive.

Also, the way that crome brought siege from being pubbers to elites in like 1 season of play is alot more of an accomplishment than anything elusive has ever done.

not that the Siege roster was huge by any means but not too many of us play anymore.. and if we do it's not too active or that classy it's always nice to reminisce but there won't be a Siege again, though some of the players have sticked to the same squads since season 5 (me, banzi, foreign, crome, for example)
