I was the first one to bomb cram on attack. I am amazed at myself.

I remember the day this happened actually. March 21, 2001. In those days sharks were throwing bombs to the left and right, but no one had thought to send one upwards. Back then there was no name for the cram, it was just called "the place where the spiders shall gather in a tight-packed formation and be vulnerable to area of effect damage". I was busy trying to get into the base by bombing downwards in an attempt to get shraps to take out the cram with my usual lack of success. My partner, Scabwound, with a bloody knife for a banner which he lost in the great formatting porn purge of '03 , did something extraordinary. Perhaps it was by accident, maybe his finger slipped and hit the bomb key instead of the repel, or maybe it was just meant to be I don't know. In one swift motion, he swung his ship upwards and TOWARDS the cram, that parts important, you must be moving UP, and at the last possible moment he released the pay-load and five spiders like deer caught in the head-lights stared in horror as their fates collided in the largest explosion I had ever seen. Although no one had ever used the term before, we all knew what it was: a "5fer". Needless to say, things would never be the same, and the rest is history. A team of engineers immediately went to work to see if there were some sort of glitch or bug in the game that had been abused, but it was all for naught. They decided to put their energy into minimalizing the damage, and produced new graphics files with smaller explosions due to the countless explosions to follow. All hail the great Scabwound, first player ever to see a group of enemy players, and shoot them.

I think Deverse understands his importance on Juice, he understands that if he were to leave that he would be screwing all of Juice, just like fiftyseven did. Fiftyseven probably wont even play half of TWL but he would have been more useful on Juice, or like cremation who will sit on Thunder and hope to get a TWLD title. This is the type of shit that ruins leagues.

But as far as Deverse not caring about TWL that is not true at all, he wants us to do well and will be at every game he possibly can (I have little to no doubt of this).

I also think that Spastic is on the same level as you, just like Hopkin said, squads aren't that far away from Pandora as far as skill goes. Hell we almost beat you guys yesterday and lost by 30 seconds and we were playing people who usually don't play, I think that alone is an accomplishment.

If players looked at TWLB realistically and saw that they could make a squad like Juice, Mambo and many others increase the ability to play top squads they might be inclined to join, until then I see mambo, Juice and many others locked into this state of being 'mediocre' that will plague us most the league. We might get lucky, but I don't see us doing better than 7-8th as I said.

Pandora, Spastic, Dice, and even Disoblige can whine all they want about how much this league will suck but when they have easily the best and most competitive players, and they clearly don't need every single one of them then really is it the rest of the squads fault for having a lack of talent. Basically one of the reasons this league will suck as you said is a lack of competitive squads and I'm sorry to say it's partially due to squads hogging every single player they possibly can.

way to state the obvious about playing the best lines and avoid the issue of upper tier squads bitching about the suckage yet being part of one of the squads that causes elitist squad grabbing shit to dominate this league. (This isn't a direct attack at Pandora, this is a systematic problem, there's not enough talented basers to go around, there's enough to be in 8 - 12 squads though, but I guess it makes sense (not to me) to bitch about the league yet hold players like your squad is about to die)

1. dice - there isn't much deviation in this placement than any other's predictions. i mean, they're the returning champs. not only coming back with all their starters from last season, but somehow adding on to the powerhouse. a1m's more like it because he'll always be #1 in my heart. cig will accompany him well in shark, 89'll bring the heat, nothing too new there. i'm more interested in the spid pickups they made. the ever-silent, ever-amazing domi and sumpson. those two add a lot of depth to the already fucking chasm-like squad dice is. hk is also a pretty decent spider, and menel could do well. i'm not entirely sure. it's easy to look great or horrible when you don't have much of a supporting cast, let's see how he fairs with the twlb champs. oh, right, i forgot, mootland=win.

2. pandora - eehh, not too much shock and horror here either. these guys' spiders are fucking amazing, we all know that. the loss of 57 and deverse might have hurt them a bit in the depth department if it weren't for the pickups of suede and renzi (abbot) in the off-season. i'm not too sure that those recruits make up for the loss of deverse and 57, but it makes the dent far less evident. these fucks have been hoarding good spids for a long time anyway, so this isn't very relevant. tim will hold it down in terr like usual. the best pickup in the off-season by far was legionair. i give it till week 3 or 4 before he's starting for these guys. a good shark, and he should work well with pandora's dominant spiders.

3. spastic - beautiful recruits. sprained, solace, (the return of) schope, fiftyseven, and grandmastahs, all of them are pretty good spiders and should definitely give spastic what they were lacking last season: spider depth. despite all the new spids look for jamal and flibb to fucking shit keep locked up like usual. ph and stabwound: best offensive shark combo in the league. the other thing they were lacking last season that, unfortunately, is a problem that will probably never be resolved is the terr. if pl can remain on his prescription then maybe he won't fuck it up for these guys. i admit, he has his good days in terr. let's just hope all of those happen to land on sundays.

4. disoblige - you guys are pretty dreamy, mainly mantra though. i'd fuck those swedish, lustrous locks of hair any day. speaking of him, your shark department looks a ton better with him back from beating asian children, and mattey in the mickey crew. if warportal does stay active for twl, fuckin' awesome. but these are all kind of just minor things compared to what the fuck you shitheads are doing these days. if you play plenty of specials i look forward to some potentially interesting games. regardless of whether you go through with it or not, cockthrobbing queen (harry pjotter) should make an appearance or two in javelin which is always mostly beneficial. you've also got talented javs in da1 and crv. your spiders are looking a lot better with the return of trouper and with trouble on the squad. bram and phren will do well too. disoblige should make it far, if they don't it will be a travesty.

5. mambo - i'd be very surprised if these guys did as poorly as they did last season. on paper they seem great, they've got the spids and they've got the sharks. thanks to the fall of bc these guys have some new spiders, namely leitz and nostromo. then they've got guys like invincible, lionheart, and fizzy all returning. should be a solid year in the spider department. as far as sharks go, these guys are coming back with most of the same guys. hopefully circlepusher will get some playing time in. however, the downfall of last season and presumably they're main problem this season is their lack of terrier. i just don't see people like nycle or wingzero being twl-caliber enough. this position will hinder these guys' performance come twl and could mean an early playoff exit.

6. style - there could potentially be a lot of fluctuation in style's rankings but i think they'll probably make the playoffs so i thought putting them in the 6th spot would be a smart idea. everest's terring is always quite good and he will probably lead this crew of duelers to a couple victories even if it means cable-pulling every now and then. i wonder how big of an impact necro will have in shark as compared to him in jav, probably not as much but there's nothing wrong with a lag-bomb tossed into a cram every now and then. the large majority of their roster has been around for a long time and by this point in their career all of them should garner some weight in spider. the question is, how well will most of these duelers do? they have some well-established spiders with them in last standing, reaver, weaver, raspi, vihta, and drow. i suppose dald (if he can make games considering he's an aussie) could do well. their depth will be the thing to hurt them, but i'm sure they'll do fine anyway.
