I propose a twl and twd roster size cap, limiting a squad to a certain number of players for the next twl and twd seasons. I'll use 35 as an example:
I quickly went through a few squads that have participated in twl, and came up with the following numbers
squad roster size
Paladen - 57
Pandora - 47
Penetrate - 47
Savanger - 46
Wingmasters - 42
dice - 41
Thunder - 39
Now a roster cap, would free upto 74 players from these 7 squads alone, allowing for the creation of 2 or more new squads, comprised of mostly twl level players (in their respected leagues). Or at the VERY least, beefing up other, lesser quality squads, into squads that will be alot more active and give alot better competition.
Since the roster cut-off for twl is already 35 (if I'm not mistaken), not too much would change with that, since most squads (even 3 league squads) use alot of the same players in all leagues. Although one possible problem I could see about that, is players leaving squads during twl, after soft/hard lock, possibly rendering a squad to be forced out of the twl competition. This could be remedied by allowing squads during twl, at any time to recruit 3-5 players, that have would have been considered eligible to play during the softlock period (or some such nonsense, you get what I mean)
Another benefit of having a roster cap, is that people would be alot more careful on who to recruit, especially when activity will be such a factor, forcing the good players, to at least play a few matches once in a while to merit their spot on the roster.
And perhaps, making a farm squad might be alot more of a viable option to find and train fresh talent.
Also to take into account the squads like Gianttiger, Lethal Dose, HappyTrian, and Ossify all have 50+ rosters, as well as Schmucks with 93! That's almost 100 players from twd level squads, and 75 players from twl level squads that I've listed... I'ts pretty simple match from where I stand heh, 175/35 = 5 new squads, with a full 35 person roster that could be competing in twd and even twl.
I don't think that this would require too much more effort from the staff, (maybe a bit more from a few players willing to be the Captain of a squad).
If anyone has any thoughts feel free to post. (If you find a hole in my plan, then try to point out a solution to the problem as well as the problem itself heh)
