I was asked by staff to create a basic structure for the TWL Amateur league idea, and this is my (unofficial) results. Feel free to comment and give constructive criticism, or give any ideas that you think should be implemented. Player interest IS there, and I have at least 15 lower tier squads interested in participating. Any help would be appreciated.
TWL AMATEUR LEAGUE Rules
This is a basic structure of rules that I think should be applied to the league. Obviously nothing is set in stone but is a good idea of how I and a few other players think it should be ran. This is a rundown for TWLA warbird dueling, the other leagues are still pending if there is a demand for it.
1.0 TWLA will start sometime after TWL squads have been chosen. All squads wishing to participate will have to apply (either using website or a bot, depending on how the Ops would like to do it) and shall have to have a roster limit of lets say... 10 minimum active members.
2.0 Squads that are in TWL cannot participate in TWLA. This includes all players rostered to those squads at the start of TWL. Exceptions might be made for those that do not participate in any games, however I'm not sure on this one one yet... still iffy.
3.0 The games shall be the standard 5v5 dueling rules. Each player shall have 10 deaths each.
4.0. Standard lag limits and cheating rules apply. Multi squadding will not be allowed. Standard TWL rules for these offenses apply to TWLA.
5.0 Standard rules apply for fielding players.
6.0 The dates of each meeting of squads will be decided at a pre-season meeting. Those squads wishing to change times must have both squads agree once schedule is set. This will be held far in advance to make sure players and hosts can show up for each game.
7.0 All regular season and playoff matches will be best out of 3.
STRUCTURE
1.0 There will be multiple divisions where each team will play each other within their respected division twice during the regular season. Each team that wins the division will be awarded a playoff spot, seeded based on record. Based on how many squads participating will determine how many divisions and also how many wildcard spots there will be.
1.0 A Wildcard seeding will also be based on record. If there is a wildcard team that has a better record than the winner of another division, the wildcard team will be seeded higher. TWLA Op opinion also takes effect.
2.0 Playoffs will be based on a bracket, where seed 1 plays seed 8 seed 2 plays seed 7 and so on and so forth. If there are enough teams, we can do an east and a west bracket.
3.0 Other standard TWL rules apply to the same effect in TWLA.
4.0 (this one is strictly up to TWL ops choice, but popular opinion should be able to make it happen) The winner of the TWLA playoffs will be guarenteed a spot in the next official TWL, assuming the large majority of the roster is intact and the squad does not dissolve.
