Twl Amateur League Thread

THere has to be a rule that would make squads stick around and not dissolve midseason. Also, The hard lock and soft locks rules inside AML should be a little lighter, so its easier for squads to not fuck up the ladder. Like allowing squads to recruit any player at any time, who wasnt in aml, twl squads.

also, maximum, minimum number of squads for AML to take place? Say basing, only 3 squads signup, no point holding the league, right?


As for website, Just make a copy of twl site using AML stuff, and perhaps making tad different graphics.

ALso, if a squad dropped out from twl, would a highest ranked aml squad replace? that could cause problems.

Overall, I think it should be competitive enough for squads to show their top lines (promising twl spot next season), yet be as encouraging to getting new players to play as possible. And it should encourage say a twld squad to play aml for basing. So gameplay rules should be the same as twl, roster rules should be a bit lighter than twl, and perhaps an extra rule to make sure squads that are in the league, are not gonna collapse after 2 losses. (blacklist caps from capping anymore? only let squads who were around for at least a month or 2 prior?)

I dont plan on doing this for basing unless there is a large demand, but based on the TWD ladder I do not see this... it should be purely wardbird and javalin the first season only, unless there becomes a huge uproar in the basing world.

The hardlock/softlock should be inplace except for accepting new players that are not currently on a AML squad or in TWL. They would have to appeal to a AML Op for approval first, pending an alias check.

As far as pascone's input goes, I did state that players that did not play in any TWL games might be an exception to the rule, but its still an iffy subject. I think it should be on an exception status pending an appeal, not a rule.

The part of a TWL squad dropping out and an AML league squad taking their spot should be an interesting subject. I think at that point it should be the AML squads decision, however they should full well know that if they choose to take the spot then they will lose the opportunity to participate in AML and therefore lose out on the ability to gain an automatic spot in next seasons TWL.

mainly because i dont wanna break up twl squads just so players can find a chance to play in AML instead of benching

too many squads in TWL do not show enough players as it is, don't need two leagues butting heads with each other

cause if its after twl, then there's no point to that because everyone leaves their squad anyway after twl with the exception of like 3/20 squads

i plan on having it sometime after the TWL season starts, and all TWL squad shave been chosen, that way those not participating will have a league of their own, but yes the AML season will somewhat coincide with TWL

basing is the one league thats dying fastest. I say you let people apply to be in aml B and see if enough apply. Id say its worth it holding a league with minimum 4 squads. Just less games. Better than no games. Its all about activity people

Well our original idea was to just have a AML-D for this season as a trial to see if it can really work (wouldnt want a disaster to happen across all the leagues) but, this could be decided by the public.

maybe i'm the only one that thinks this.. but

if (when) someone does really well in this new league, wouldn't an established twl squad recruit that person? they would then have a better chance of winning twl instead of playing on the amateur squad?

so what? if twl squads are picking out aml players then then good for them. That should be the point. To find diamonds in the rough. There will always be more amateurs willing to play in the league so if you take a few who cares?
