I too also feel that this 2 terr idea was thrown out there to create a buzz without adequate support for such an idea. From my point of view, if the idea of 4 spider limit was enforced this season, it would at least make sense where our direction for TWL is coming from..the constant battle between advocators of the 5 spider lineup versus advocators of the usage of a special ship as shown through months of discussion on these forums. No where had it been discussed that the introduction of a 2nd terrier would be a fine idea to look into.

Okay so there has been a lot of debate on this. I decided to ask 16 squadcaptains on the TWLD ladder what they thought. Based on their responses, I have decided to increase the number of TWLD squads who can qualify for TWL to 10. Those lucky squads better prove themselves!

I think there should be no limits for ships at all. And ship count could be raised to 10. (And the flagroom could be bigger too then.)

But it should be like that in TWD too... No point having two terriers in TWL if you can't practise that in TWD.

But, there is no point of having two terriers in TWL if you can not practice playing with two terriers in TWD; will we be able to add two terriers in our TWBD matches soon enough? I sure hope so..

but i pretty much agree with stabwound. often (not naming any names, so don't get all offended) people get power hungry and make drastic changes with limited information and pretty much do it on their own whim (i'd give another example, but staff will yell at me for being honest again)

decrease the twl squads entering the leagues to a minimum
(i say top 8, or even 6)

however have 2 TWL's every year with a 2-3 month duration between each...

so if one was to start beggining of November, and ends around February, have another TWL in May, which will last till like august....then start all over again in November, and so on...

In other news, I'm glad that people are finally starting to rationally think about the 2 terr change. Keep up the discussion. This change was talked about over in that '4 spid limit' thread for people who assume this wasnt talked about. A lot of 'seasoned' basers thought no ship limits would be even better. I do wish I could have finished the testing that was stopped early and be allowed to test it in TWD. I guess I mistakenly assumed TWL squads would be good enough to adapt.

I just read through the other thread, and this two terrs deal was hardly "talked about," unless you're referring to the few people saying "THIS IDEA SUCKS" after you posted some ?go base results. Even then, there was not a single instance of this "2 terr" limit being specifically referred to, just a removal of ship limits in general.

People were playing 2 terrs in ?go base yesterday and there was only complaining. I refuse to believe that this was at all tested properly. Let's face it: this was a random change on a whim.

I'm not crusading against changes to TWL in general. I am, however, against arbitrarily making changes like this before TWL. I see from one of your other threads in this forum that you have been a TWL SMod since April. Why did you not make these kinds of changes back then, rather than right before TWL?

I'm not against compromise. If TWL could actually run twice a year, without delays, then sure lower the squads. If you made adjustments to TWD to make it an AML (having a history book, or anything else that would help it resemble and actual league), once again, I wouldn't be aruging. In fact, I'd be on your side, and wouldn't that be nice? You guys could sit back and do nothing while you wait for TWL, and others could do all the work when it comes to arguing in your favor. It's simple. If you cut tons of people from TWL, something that keeps this zone alive, without having somewhere for these people to go - they're going to forget this game. I'm not against lowering the squads, I'm against the general arrogance/ignorance of alot of veterans on this game. You only care for yourselves, and your squads. You could care less where all the mid-tier player or squadrons go - that is until you need some of those players to fill your own dwindling ranks.

If you want to lower TWL squads, fine -do it right damnit! Have somewhere or something for these people to goto that resembles TWL (the current TWD system doesn't qualify). I have nothing against these ideas, or the people proposing them. All I'm asking is for you to look past yourselves and think of whats better for the long term community. The ENTIRE community, not just a select group of veterans that can't even be bothered to voice their points of view. Mirr is doing a great job of attempting to appeal to everyone. She's doing everything in her power to take in everyones points of veiw and make decisions based on what EVERYONE thinks. She's also doing a great job at taking all the random bullshit being thrown at her for no logical reason other than people are in the habit of attacking a TWL Op everytime they hear something they remotely disagree with.

P.S. Sirius, look over the people posting on these TWL related forums. You'll find that the majority of the people posting are actually top TWL contenders, or at least people that participate in it. The people who troll the forums and don't play the game don't normally post in the TWL section.
